What happened to the days on NS where we could crack jokes at minorities and women without 30 people getting banned daily. Like remember Lat and mommy and those guys. shit was way more funny back then and not so damn serious and "politically correct."
 
this is true, but i miss the days when if i wanted to crack an extremely sexist joke i won't have to worry about getting banned.
 
agreed. wanna know what i dont get? why we cant call women extremely sexist things when they want nothing more than equality with men. I make fun of my friends all the time, so in turn i think it would only be equal if i make fun of females just as much.

The only thing is that nowadays it's all that ever happens. NSG, and a lot of NS in general, has become a huge troll orgy, so the mods have no choice to crack down.

No dude. That's the thing, those once famed ''shit talkers'' like mommy, K2skipimp, Alpentalik, Lateralis, Dspin (something?), Lord_Piot and a few others kept all the trolls in line. They did a better job than the mods of keeping shit like pee in her butt and all the other mostly stupid internet meme's out of here.
And I also agree with what the thread creator is saying.
 
It was a smaller community back then. There still were people who came in here to post bullshit to cause controversy (TROLLS!), but now we've got more people. More people = more 'trolls'!

im happy the sexist jokes are gone. i changed my name color from pink to blue for that fact. and i dont think girls like all the kitchen jokes, same as guys dont like being made fun of for how small there dick is but you dont see afton stilla and all the other girls telling you guys that everytime you say something unrelevant or stupid.
 
Sure we may not love it, but do we really care? No, it's the internet. The internet is not serious business. It's what you expect from an online nearly anonymous community. If you can't take it in stride, then you have bigger problems. A couple sexist jokes now and then is hardly something to get worked up over. We all know that it is just in jest, and that people aren't really meaning it. I honestly don't see the problem. Race? Perhaps. Sexist? Come on, just seems silly. Being Asian I think that a lot of race jokes can be really funny, because 99% of them aren't true. They are just a dumb joke.

I can understand changing the name color, I am sure there are all kinds of people harassing you and all of that. But if you are getting offended by what someone says to you behind a computer screen then you must have low self-esteem or something because it really is completely meaningless.
 
oh trust me i dont have a low self esteem. i was just getting sick of the hoards of sexist and kitchen jokes. i just wanted to contribute like every other PERSON be it male or female on NS.

personally its funny to me but it gets old. i love all the humor though that comes from all the guys on this site though, so nothing against you :]

I wasn't talking just to you, more in general but you were included. And it goes to anyone who gets offended at a joke that isn't over the top. If it really offends you and you can tell already what the thread is turning in to, then just don't read it. Simple as that.
 
right this is the internet. if you get but hurt over what someone tells you, then leave... its really quite simple.
and along with everybody else i miss the good old days on here where people actually put alot of thought into making threads, and the verbal (typed) bashings you would get were much worse than a stupid ban. and whats with all these noobs making stupid ass posts, over and over, it just seems like the general NS community has been getting dumber with the exception of a few.

i think its girls coming to the site looking for attention, then changing their names to blue to disguise it, personally. also the buyout... but whatever its still NS the douchers usually get weeded out and its cool again for a while.
 
No not against you...I know you're on 4chan from things you've said before but at least the stuff you bring from over there is a little better than others. I swear there is a demographic of like 13-16 year olds that just CONSTANTLY post stupid shit "For The LULZ" and it drives me crazy. It is such stupid mindless drivel, if you are going to post something at least put some thought in to it instead of wasting all our time to try and feel cool for being witty...even though you weren't actually witty because you just stole from someone elses original idea.

And I kind of agree I think there is a certain demographic of females as well that come here for attention and then get in over their heads and get sick of the BS...when that is exactly what they were looking for in the first place. They then complain and get shit changed and people in trouble and try and change NS from how it always has been. I dunno, maybe I am just hatin and generalizing but it certainly feels that way.
 
I find it frustrating that people like you get mad at us for doing things as we have always done. You have been here less than a year and have only 400 posts...yet you and some other people complaining can get all the rest of us in trouble for acting the same as we have been for years? Sometimes people have been here for almost 10 years and are getting in trouble because some newb stumbles over and gets upset about something. If it gets old, then don't leave the threads or go to some other part of Newschoolers. Change is fine, but it should come from people who have earned the right to make an opinion.

I dunno just frustrating to me, seems like a common trend nowadays.
 
i actually never heard of 4chan before coming here to NS. ive been lurking since like 2000 but didnt bother to make an account since 06 and then didnt post until like idk, may of last year.
