but why not be comfortable and take advantage of darker lenses on sunny days so that you dont burn your eyes or have to squint all day. thats why they make different lenses, not just clear. its all preference.

sunglasses then? ok, i have an argument bout that too. if you're on the mt w/o goggles or sunglasses...the snow is white, and so the light reflects off the snow, causing blindness. if you're elsewhere, it's annoying to have to squint. if you're driving, it sucks if you get some massive glare and don't have sunglasses on.
