What gives a ski pop?

Ive made some skis aswell, but i havent used carbod. I would guess that you would place the carbon stringers between the wood strips while laminating the core. My first pair used maple/ poplar in the core and my current pair is using all maple. The first skis were noodly as all hell, but have a pair amount of pop. They are soft enough however that it feels like i get less return from them than my fujatives. This could be because they wash out a little of something like that. For reference, the core ended up being slightly thinner than intended aswell. I used one layer of fiberglass above the core and one below.
