So this is the ONLY AND BIGGEST jump on my home "mountain"
There is few rails (sticky, and rusty) but the resort doesn't do ANYTHING to them. they build lips at the start of the season and let them be there.
You can sometimes get a showel to build lips, but you can't modify the jump 'cos some little kids might jump it without knowing. The landing is also ice and FLAT AS F****. If you fall, you literally die!
So you can all stop bithching about how you only have 3 jumps, and only 5 rails, and only groomer the park every second day... FML.
All over the midwest this is a rule. At my home mountain you can't do inverted tricks in comps or else you get DQ'd. It's pretty stupid, but a lot of parks that are getting better don't have the rule.
I used to work at that place many years ago. Mount Jore. Awesome glades and a sick all around mountain, but if you go to have fun don't do it in the park.
At least they're kind of almost trying these days.
It amazes me that mountains sometimes don't want a park because of insurance, but let stuff like that go on when they actually have one. And I understand your pain. Riding mountains with horrible jumps everyday all season for a few years is why I don't spin anything big anymore.
at my home hill they say you cant, sometimes i get stopped by some old ass ski patroller, but we have an airbag so i dont think that rule is actually relevant anymore.
I would like if my home mountain didn't set up huge features. The last week they had a huge step up fun but wasted soo much snow and took most of the terrain park space.
at my mountain they have this rule even though we had some solid 40-50 footers last year. Im in Virginia though and a couple other mid east resorts have this rule
Telluride used to have an awesome park, but they regulated the hell out of it and now it kinda sucks. I think we need some bigger jumps, some more rails, perhaps a wall ride, and a sick tombstone feature. I dont know why, but I love tombstones.
