What ever happened to travis heed

i dont think you need to do crazy shit onto rails to enjoy skiing. the simple things he made look the best. he would of done alot of other crazy shit if he acctually wanted to go somewhere with the sport. im sure hes chillin around.
 
I'm right there with you that travis heed's style is pretty lame, but that's not to say it's not hard. If he can do things like i said without moving a muscle, it's pretty obvious that he can do more technical stuff as well. There's many far better skiers around though, so i'm not sure why everyone decided to tea bag themselves with some T-heed.
 
The way Theed regards ns is the same way I regard Theed, I don't care where he is or what he's doing. He had that one cool pic and rail edit and I see no reason to idolize him for wearing baggy clothes, falling asleep on rails and taking his dermatologists advice to cover his face, cuz the sun really scorches gingers.

in his wicked part, there actually were some cool things if u watch closely. cleaned 2 hard urbans 270'd out of one. there was a 7 or might have been switch 5. he did a 630 onto a box. a sw 270 on 450 out. and while stuff today is way more tech, at the the time it was really sick, and tons of style. he may not be the best, but no reason to bitch at him

i agree with anyone who thinks that his segment in wicked was awesome, and very progressive for its time. at a time when style wasnt that big yet, he was portraying a style nobody had really seen.

but now i feel like people can agree that you cant get very technical with that style, (if i remember correctly, his best trick (?) was a sw 270 prez 270 on that flat rail) and people have realized that this style does not work if you want to progress the sport any more than just sliding rails and doing 270s and other rail tricks that nowdays everyone and there mom can do.

i also feel like he could never make a better segment than his segment in wicked. and for its time it was a very progressive segment, and i give him props for showing how much style is a factor in being a "good" skiier. im not sure where im going with this.

all in all, i do respect travis for his segment in wicked, but i feel like skiing has progressed past just being a stylie skier, and having that be your claim to fame. i forget what ive said at this point, and dont know if i even got a point across. fuckit

bahaha I'm really not convinced he even knows how to ski. If he was capable of doing anything besides smooth 270s then why would he have blown his deal with armada?? I'm not tryin to hate on people, but he seems to have a terrible attitude and even worse skiing skills. maybe if I met him I'd have a different perspective, but the two times I've "met" him was at mt snow and he was a douche to us.

Ever heard the phrase, any publicity is good publicity? Well the fact alone that heed's got some 2 pages of posts from a bunch of people who don't even know him shows alone why he got recognition. I met both travis and brian like 5 years ago at mt. snow or killy. Even though I was never anything special at park, never really looked "thugged out" or whatever, travis was always chill and a friendly kid. I don't see where you get off saying he has a bad attitude. So some random kids point a video camera at him when he's just doing his thing and ask him to say something for newschoolers and they expect him to be all about it?

Travis rarely if ever posts shit on here, and he's not the one hyping himself up. Not everyone is destined (or wants to) be a pro skier. So what. He had a vid segment that a lot of people liked, and a sick spread in SkiTime. Isn't that good enough? It seems to me like anyone that's taking the time to point out that they, or someone else can do more tech shit than travis on rails now is the one that has something to prove, not him.

Second of all, Gallant - I can't believe you're going out of your way to talk shit in this thread and hype up getting on sno-force and all that. I saw your more recent pics and what not and even PMed you to give you props and say that it looks like you've gotten a lot better. Now it just looks to me like your ego has gotten a lot bigger than your bag of tricks. Did you even enter Mt. Snow comps when you were on sno-force, and if you did, did you place? I heard plenty of shit about you and sno-force and I'm not gonna go there, but now that it seems (as far as I know) that you've moved up since then - at least have some humility.

Lastly, I still have only seen a handful of people do butters as well as Travis, and he was that shit years ago.

Sean, I've dropped my ego, I know I'm not the best or whatever but it kills me to see these kids on NS swinging from heeds nuts, when there's actual skiers that can kill it 23487583X's harder than he will ever. yes his segment in wicked WAS sick at the time when skiing didnt really have style, but like someone said nowadays, that style isnt too progressive because you can't really get technical, which is where skiing is progressing towards, Heeds style nowadays would be on the opposite end of the spectrum, maybe even regressive.

And yes Sean heed was "chill" with you cause niel, johnson, lipps, and yourself were all frat-mates at RPI, so he kinda had to be chill because you guys all hung out together.

I have never seen you ski, heard your name before, read a post of yours - anything, until this thread, and I have to say - you fucking suck. 'Snoforce'? I don't even know what the fuck that team is and I don't want any part of it.

What you're failing to grasp here is that while you may define 'good skiing' as keeping up with the current level of progression, T Heed appeals to a lot of us because he's drastically different than anyone else. Sure guys like Mik D and Lolo have the gang-steeze thing going, but not to the extreme that T does (or did, we still haven't found out what he's actually up to). He looks at rails and style in a really unique way, and I think that's important.

That being said, your campaign to prove that you're better than Heed is stupid - there's a reason he has hype behind him off of an old-ass segment and a flick in Ski Time, and there's a reason that you don't. So keep that in mind next time you post, no one really cares about you or your skiing.

With that beings said - can we get an answer to the question orginally asked? What has Heed been up to? Not as a stan or anything, but simply because the few pieces of media featuring him have been some of my favorites over the last two years or so. Thanks.

as for trying to bring up an argument that heed is a bad skiier. that is just retarded. nobody is trying to tell you that heed is amazing at skiing pow, or hitting the big jump line at breck. thats a fucking terrible argument. people like heed for his rail style, and understand that he may not be the greatest skiier ever, but he def brought something to skiing. and for his time that segment was something nobody had really ever seen before, a kid who brought so much style to skiing when style wasnt really a factor as much as it is now. people arnt "all over his nuts" because he is the best skiier ever, but becuase they feel like he brought something to skiing, and then just left after he made his mark.
