So they made two issues, then i havn't heard anything since then. Are they gonna continue making magazines or did they just stop?
 
no im gonna go out on a limb and say harvey didn't fuck it up! had he fucked it up i don't think he'd be senior editor at freeskier!

 
I thought the entire point of him doing Ski Time was so he could have his own magazine to do whatever in. And Ski Time was just a creation of Freeskier...wasn't it?
 
I was wondering so myself now that harvey's incharge at freeskier they should come out with like 8 issues a year!!
 
being he is now senior editor at Freeskier, it is obvious that he should have stuck with SkiTime. I mean, come on, did anyone actually think the "Women of Freeskiing" actually read that well? I am unimpressed with his work so far with either publication.

i dont think 'the women of freeskier' is supposed to "read" good, i mean c'mon. if it was they would have put pics of them skiing. the piece on simon was done well. I have had no problem with the publications so far this year
 
It would by kind of hard for them to send out like 10 issues a year when the magazine is free. They have to focuse of freeskier to make their money.
 
And how's he supposed to know that without being told?

You were all new at some point (August 06, you old timer you) and I'm pretty sure without noobs Skiing would die a death, along with most things.

Leave the noobs alone for a bit and they'll eventually learn more and be able to contibute more to the site. Or just keep ripping on them so you feel the bigger man...
 
you noob!! ha, i never get in on this, but com on you guys, this site is a valid (and HUGE) part of freesking culture and history, and harvey is/was the man who created it all. thats almost like not knowing who glen plake is! (please tell me you know this one?!)

and PS, AXIS was fucking sick! that and freeze were the only two REALLY good ski mags. i still read all my old freeze's when im takin a shit, even after all this time, they are still awesome.

i agree. his drive and enthusiasm are second to none, but his grammar and simple writing abilities just arent that good. but he cares, and thats the big thing! im just glad someone else noticed his small faults.
 
But if you were just getting into the scene how would you know this? You know who Robbo or Laurent are in the Paintball scene? I do, but I'm into paintball. I only learned who Glen Plake is a week or so ago, but I'm a noob and it's my job :D
 
you dont read freeskier for good writing, for good writing you read powder. the majority of the photos in the latest freeskier weren't that impressive i didnt think

 
now i might not be 100% accurate on this but here we go.

wasn't harvey always working at freeskier? brad fayfield was the publisher of ski time. with the demise of freeze, freeskier saw it as the opportunity to sell magazines to the youngins of the sport and since matt harvey's website (newschoolers.com) had previously done work with freeskier (way back in the day)and he knew a real shitload about the industry and what goes on in the minds of these kids, he was an awesome fit!

 
you guys are all stupid. going back to the original question at hand. "are they going to put out more issues of Ski Time?" The answer is yes, they probably will. notice that not even Freeskier puts out issues in the summer months. The buyers guide doesnt even come out till september. so be pacient young ones, there may yet be hope for the mag. (yeah you can get pissed at my insolence and lack of respect for anyone else)

speaking of powder, I wasn't too impressed with their buyer's guide. It was basically a collection of all the info you could find on the skis websites. It was pretty much useless to me. That said, I would agree that powder has good writing.

and I'm really pissed that I missed the freeskier buyer's guide.
 
it always said that it was just going to have 2 issues a year. one inf october and one in february. didnt you guys read the site
 
for those of you that havent gotten it try subscribing again cuz the update for like april said that u had to do it again
 
it was an awsome mag.....but i only got mine fucking late.....and they then said that they would not ship to canada this year. HARVEY IS CANADIAN...WTF. I thought that was fucking bullshit. Anyways, i thought it sucked. Bring back freeze.
 
wait isnt he the guy that won the xgames last year? oh wait that was JT Chiller, tanner hall is the guy that waxes my skis
 
the best ski mag i've ever seen i think was 2-Europe's Freeskiing Mag. it was in german and i couldn't read it, but def. the most epic photography and layout i've seen in a ski mag.
