What even happens when you take high doses of LSD?

There is nothing in your day to day conscious experience that comes any where close to taking 5 tabs and passing out on the sofa listening to some psychedelic rock (or Drum and Bass if you're feeling loose)

What does any of it mean? Are we the universe just experiencing itself, are we nothing?

I think reality is far weirder than the majority gives it credit for. Perhaps it is because of this innate sense of randomness though, that we create these drama ridden narratives (Trump, Covid etc.) institutions, groups, jobs, to act as a symbolic defense mechanism against the knowledge of our mortality.

The personalities that we spend years and years cultivating, refining, the experiences we have, everything we do will be annihilated, and I think this feeling lurks in the back of the mind of every human even if one cannot bring it to words.

What do you guys think?

Psychedelics are a crazy thing. Reality doesn’t exist in the form that most people think it does. It makes you question why certain drugs such as alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes are all legal while other natural substances that effectively deal with trauma, PTSD, depression/anxiety, etc... are all illegal. The “drugs” that have the most beneficial effects on the mind/body and the least negative side effects (when done in a proper setting with someone who knows what they’re doing) are all illegal, class 1 drugs, while OxyContin, Xanax, Perc’s, Moonshine, etc... are legal and have more negative side effects/are generally more abused.

If you know where to look, there are a lottttt of websites with a lot of medical and psychological professionals on them advocating for the safe use of psychedelics over pharmaceuticals.

But everyone on this website seems to think pharmaceutical (man made) drugs are the answer to all our problems ?

MDMA was actually hailed as a incredible therapy enhancer for PTSD and the medical community was pretty pissed when they first made it illegal.

Medical community ≠ big Pharma. The medical community wanted it as it held significant potential. However, it became a schedule 1 “drug” like heroin because it doesn’t have any medical use; right, rightttttt???

Probably nothing except maybe worse adverse effects and mega hallucinations. You have to take a lot to die or even have severe toxicity. I know this is a shit post but here's my post to bring this thread to reality. Saw a patient with rhabdomyolysis from LSD once. BTW I support legalization of psychedelics at least from a medical perspective as they do have known benefits for mental health. Shrooms are definitely safer physiologically than LSD but to each their own.

Depends on who you are and how stable your mind is. Some ppl can take it like a champ. Others have a complete mental collapse and breakdown. My uncle went schizophrenic from psychadelics and needed to take meds for the rest of his life. He was an all american bball player and got injured in college. He was drafted to the celtics, injury and all, bc the celtics ppl thought he might recover from his knee injury but medicine back then wasnt as goid as today and his knee didnt get better. Afterwards he was depressed and started doing alot of drugs, and he went full send on acid or something and went schizophrenic. I can tell i might have a total mental collapse if i ever do heavy psychadelics so i stay away from them.

My old counselor said i was a schizo affective dope fiend, meaning i was half ass schizo already and i would need methadone for the rest of my life.

pretty cool though, when doctors orders make you feel good.

Yeah it is very individual. How you handle it is based on so many factors. Genetic, prior experiences, current state of mind, your perception of concepts such as good and bad and so on.

You know a counselor is not a medical doctor right? Just a psychology degree with a sprinkle of pharmacology, maybe

There r some good hostel in Wellington, Auckland too. In particular queens street in Auckland has some good hosted near all the clubs. The first “train” I was ever involved in was in a hostel on queens street.

Most I've ever taken was 3 hits. I stared at a fern for an hour watching it grow branches with red flowers that would die off and disintegrate away. also popcorn ceilings we're amazing to look at. I probably couldn't handle more than a hit now with my high stress corporate job.

Yeah. One of my friends in college was this 6 foot 4 very good looking guy who got in for basketball and was a huge player with girls. You would think he would be a fucking spartan when it came to psychadelics and that he would take it like a champ. But surprisingly he told me he was in agony from his trip and that he didnt even know he had all these hidden insecurities that the drugs uncovered.

i totally give my blessing to people who love psychadelics. Whatever works for you. But ppl should know there are risks.

Yea add on the fact that you could literally die any day and there’s no way to know how much longer you’ve got. Any time you do anything could be the last time you do it.

the internet, phones etc are a huge way that people distract themselves from their own mortality nowadays. Sometimes it’s best to be along with your thoughts for some time. But people are scared of this.

ive thought about my own death a lot recently especially after a crazy trip I had last month on acid and dabbing distillate. That was the first time I truly felt the reality of my existence as flesh and blood and the inevitability of dying be it tomorrow or later

I now do my best to live each day as if it’s my last . It’s kind of like playing a video game with only one life. And taking time to observe and appreciate existing at this specific point in time and space.

very surprised that I'm agreeing with dolan for probably the first time ever

Obligatory if you're gonna do droogz question your sources and if possible test anything.

People are fulk of shit and bunk droogz are everywhere. Also just. Because something gets you high doesn't mean it's said drug it was supposed to be. It's way easier and cheaper a lot of times for people to grab the rc's.

Be safe out there.

Agreed, it’s festival season over here. From drug testing stations apparently a significant amount of the “mdma” is just shitty designer drugs
