okay so as i previously found out by my friend making a stupid thread about cameras a day or two ago there is probably another one out there but i have searched and havent found much on searchbar.

im curious what kind of camera equipment do people use to make there edits???

now i have a dolley which works pretty well for how small the track is but other than that whats is there??

jibs?? how can u make them?

i know this is kind of pushing it and should probably be in media and arts but thought id try here as well

if u dont like it lemme now haha

thanks

haha true that

but is there anything like common people use for filming ?

sounds stupid but im just curious

like i have a dolley, ladders and stuff and am starting to understand making stuff a little artsy

just curious if there were any short cuts haha

+k

thanks alot really just wanted to know what makes a good shot and that answered it completely

thanks guys

I would say thats included in creativity. i mean, i think hes speaking of the actual shot, but there are things you can do post to make the "shot" better, smoothcam, color correction, etc. again, creativity/skill

Yeppppp. As eheath said. Get a nice tripod. Worry about getting a good tripod before you spend money and dollys and other contraptions. Most of the time dolly shots look like shit and you would have been ebtter off with a solid tripod shot instead.

this, and helmet-mounted.I know some ppl get sick of helmet cams, but for me nothing beats a good helmet cam segment....

The Tom Wallisch Dew Tour helmet cam edit was really sick, but thats also the only one that hasnt been really shaky and totally messed with my eyes.

this is another great one....possibly the best helmetcam edit this year, its shot with a 5d MKII i believe.....Ian Provo / Coast Edit 2009 from Ian Provo on Vimeo.
