What does the "progressive" rise in armada's ski tips/tails mean?

are they saying the tip and tail slowly rises up? my bro has 04 arv's, and the tail seems like it's barely twin-tipped. i wanna buy ar6's, but i wanna make sure i can ski switch EVERYWHERE, pow included. anyone with ar5's... burly tail?

The tip and tail are very similar in twin tipness.

Sounds like they'll have a higher tail then most twins.

On my ar5's the tips and tails look pretty much the same. They work fine for riding switch in everything that ive tried, though ive never skied in powder. I also have arv's and according to last years armada site they have a little bigger tail than tip.

how much rise does the 2005/2006 1080 thrusters tail rise up? can anyone who owns a pair answer that, and if possible, take a pic of the tail's rise..ive tried google..no luck at a pic of the ski sideways....how do they ski switch?

in responce to your topic, armadas powder skis have a 10mm higer tail than the tip...i believe

haha, no prob... i've made threads about foils... many... and from what i gathered, most salomon skis do quite well switch. in the sia 2006 page you can see thrusters next to foils on the last picture... looks like it's got a pretty decent rise.

the progressive curve, is about the radius of the curve of the tip. instead of being part of a perfect circle(single radius), it starts out with a large radius , then the radius tightens to bring the tip up higher. basically it makes a less harsh curve where the tip leaves the snow to make them less hooky.

its not saying the ski has a higher tail or nose than normal, its about how it curves gently off the snow. it makes the skis hook edges less and ride better in pow. as far as tip and tail height, armadas are fine, a well shaped tip or tail is more important than a super tall one.

sure it does...the tip/tail starts curving upwards slowly, then starts increasing the height faster the farther along the ski it goes...

As far as I know, it's only the JP vs. JJ's that has 10 mm higher tail.
