What does Spriggs have in common with Plake and Schmidt?

They will all be on The Powell Movement over the next three weeks.

Plake:http://www.thepowellmovement.com/tpm-season-1/2017/9/24/tpm-episode-36-glen-plake

Spriggs: Launches a week from today. Already recorded and it is as heavy as you can imagine. John answers everything and the questions were not easy

Schmidt: Two week from today. Haven't interviewed him yet, feel free to post questions to this thread.

I have a ton of great guests lined up through February at this point. Should have a lot of great content heading your way!

Enjoy

Mike

Alex Bellmare, ABM, James Woods on in the future? Big fan of the podcast, great for the long bus rides, keep it up!!

Plake has been my favorite podcast to date.

Could you get Adam Delorme, Josh Malczyk or Scott Andrus on the show?

The Spriggs one got pretty real. All of the guests suggested are people on my radar. I have a sick guest list lined up through February. Will post it up once I get it out of spreadsheet form.

Thanks for listening!!!

I don't know about Schmidt, but what they must have in common is that they have been bad boys and gotten in trouble with the law before. Sometimes that's what it takes to get "The Wake Up Call".

Hey, we are all human and "S" happenes sometimes. I hope John will stay off the "A" . The bad one that is, when over done. The other "A" if not done more than once a month usually yields a better person through the process.

One really needs an experienced mentor to get the most from the latter. And pure stuff, not synthetic garbage. Not something to be taken lightly or just to see visual stuff. It's a journey that can change a life if it's all done correctly.

Skiing an they are all on the podcast is the answer to the dumb question. I had Charley lined up for an interview and then he went dark. That happens, especially with him, ha

Well, that part was obvious, so I figured it must be deeper than that. Ha ha.

Nice interviews. Keep up the good work.

Sweet. Can't wait to listen to the Spriggs interview - he's a good guy. Actually, a great guy. I'm not sure what happened with him over the winter with his run-in with the law, but I hope that's water under the bridge now and I hope he's just chilling.

With regard to Scott Schmidt, I'd like to know about his history and how he got his start in the pro ski scene. How did he get recognized back in the 80s? Did he end up making good $$$ from his iconic status and his K2 and North Face endorsements? I hope so.

Spriggs killed that interview so hard. Interview guy was occasionally wack. For those who haven't listened, here is about 75% of the interview:

Interview guy: So I had to do some research for this interview, and I found this old beef, so-and-so told me you drank a beer and blacked out one time, here's how they said it went down .... can you comment?

Spriggs: Yup, I did drink the beers. I have a slightly different recollection but for the most part you're right.

Interview guy: Well I think really highly of so-and-so and I now cast my own doubt on your answer.

Way to be objective dude. Jounalism, look it up.

Interview guy- we get it, you had to ask some hard questions. Honestly, good on you for doing the homework and asking them. 20 minutes of this interview was really solid. But it sure seemed like you were trying to get him to crack or something, there was some pretty kooky badgering a few times and way, way to much ancient dirty laundry brought up. You had one of the greatest skiers ever on your show and you spent about 10 minutes on ski related questions.

Best part was when Spriggs roasted the interview guy. Spriggs is laughing at him a bit then after interview guy essentially suggests some crap about how the stars of a movie are chosen, Spriggs says "I don't know dude, I've only been in 13 or 14 of these flicks." Savage shit and interview guy would have served himself well to move on right there. Pretty jockish shit to be talking about stars anyways dude, I thought Spriggs had the best shots in Ring the Alarm and some killer shots in lots of other flicks but I've never sat around with my homies discussing who was the star. Jake Blauvelt has maybe a half dozen shots in That's It That's All and Art of Flight and to this day I think his three in Jackson and his long line in Chile are the two best shots in those movies. Talking about stars is kooky as hell and probably gave us a lot more insight into interview guys mind than he meant to offer.

All said- interview guy- keep doing your thing. I think you missed some golden opportunities here but it's still a great listen and Spriggs comes off like a fucking champ. Keep it up buddy addiction is the real deal and we've got your back. Winter is coming and hopefully you get some healing vibes from the snow

I always knew you were on that wavelength

i don't think spriggs killed the interview, in fact, he hid behind the truth, and so much more could have come out. I applaud springs for doing the interview, but he's the one that has to live with what he's done, weather the truth was told or not.

This was one of the better Powell movement interviews. The majority are informative but there aren't any hard questions.

I don't think Spriggs expected to be grilled, even with those mistakes in his past.

I hope Spriggs stays sober and turns a corner.
