There has to be a few sale reps on this site, what does it take to be a rep in the snow industry? Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated. If you dont want to share with the world feel free to pm me. thanks.

This. To get my social networking spot at bluehouse i had to suck off Mr.Bishop

But really just talk to the guys, get to know them befriend them and they'll come to you. intern at whereever you want to go

hard work, sucking alot of dick along the way as people are saying, being veryoutgoing and having something to offer. Also having skills in different areas.

As little as possible. The peter principle applies here most, you will rise to the height of your incompetence. Or just work hard and ask around, get to know as many people as possible in the local industry, and sell lots at a big local shop.

I was a sales rep for about four years, so here's some advice. Start by working in a shop. Make friends with the reps, and tell them your intentions/offer to help them out. Be outgoing, charismatic and a good salesperson and chances are good something will work out.

I use to work for a shop and I dont see my self going back to one anytime soon, any other paths that one can take?

Yes, listen to Schmuck. That's the path most people take I would imagine.

I didn't have to work in a shop though, I competed a bit, filmed, got some offers from sponsors didn't want to travel and spend enough money to make it worth getting free/cheap gear so I asked to intern for one of them instead. Took a year off between high school and college and interned on and off location for a few months, shredding it up between demo days and deadlines. I still maintain a good relationship with the company and I hope that I will still be in shape to competitively ski after college :P Fuck my knees.

Just get your name and good rep out there somehow, even just being well known for good posts/reputation on NS helps.
