What do your Parents Ski on?

I'm looking for a ski for my Dad. I'm not really sure where to start. Hes an all mountain skier who does no park at all, but skis the rest. Hes probably 5'11 and a fairly aggressive skier. I was thinking something along the lines of the Black Diamond Kilowatt skis, maybe some k2 apache cross fire haha. I really have no idea. What do your parents ski on? Maybe some sports authority crappy Salomon x wing fire....

My dad who's 42 year old ski 70% park and he ride a pair of 2010 Volkl Wall mounted with some marker schizo... and he kills it !

My dad's looking at getting the fischer watea 84. it's just fat enough in the tip and tail to ski whatever powder we get, and it's got pretty good sidecut for carving

my dad skis on cross country skis... even on the hill. he absolutely rips with em too, i've seen him hit a few boxes on cross country.

We ski at Squaw Valley in Tahoe. I would say he skis some powder days but mostly groomers. He has not skied in like two years but I remember him ripping when he was skiing.

im thinking about a twin but I'm thinking that it may be a waste because he will most likely never ski switch or need the twin

get him a havoc they come in 5's so depending on your dads height the 175 would probably be good. Its 88 underfoot so it would be able to handle everything well, i think the verdict would be a little too much ski.

Having a twin tip on a ski you aren't going to ski switch on lowers performance. It makes it more washy compared to what the same ski would be like with a flat square tail.

It depends on the length and stiffness he wants...buy Dynastar XXLs or LPs might work, but I personally don't like that real sharp tip rise. 2010 Gotamas or Shoguns will be easier and still ski well everywhere(they have slightly rockered tips and tails, but no normal tip rise after the rocker so IMO they ski much better than rocker+normal tip.

volkl ac30, 80 underfoot, comes with the wide body binding system which uses a griffon on a system binding, skis rips everywhere.

hahah my dad uses salomon x wing fire

the guy at sports authority told him they were "really good in powder" when he bought them.

haha, you're joking right?

If he's never going to ski switch i would recommend some mid-fat stiffer skis like dynastar legend pros or maybe some k2 apache recons. Legend pros are amazing, stiff but not too stiff and are very responsive and easy edge to edge.

Don't buy him a twin unless it is a stiffer, all mountain oriented twin. Most park skis will be way to soft for all mountain skis.

Your dad should check the sultan 85. It was named the ski of the year it's just perfect to ski some pow 85 at waist and still has a great sidecut for carving on groomers.

my dad skis on fischer progressor 9 for all mountain

fischer watea 84 for telemark

he never goes in the park

dad:

-189cm K2 obsetheds w/ marker jester

-187cm bluehouse districts

-184cm volkl mantra
