This. I didn't wash my jeans a single time while I was down at school for the first semester. Ski socks I wash every time after I wear them. It's disgusting if you don't.
jeans aren't a big deal to wear for a while. Ski socks get crusty after a day or two. Using them multiple days is really only when you HAVE TO. That's why I own a bunch of pairs of the damn things.
i usually wear my jeans like 7-10 days before i wash them unless i spill or get them legit dirty. i hate wearing socks even two days in a row, i dunno feels gross
actually this thread has made me aware of why I'm so exhausted with laundry and can't keep up. My husband goes through 1 pair of work jeans every single day IN ADDITION to his regular jeans which I wash at least once if not twice a week in combination with 2 pairs of jeans of my own I wash twice a week and that's JUST jeans. That's 11 jeans/week. Everything other than jeans I wear once and wash- same with husband. No wonder I'm going nuts. I'm going to tell him that I'm only washing his jeans twice/year from now on.
Aaand, at least with nudie-jeans, after wearing them for like... a year og half a year, they form lines, and 'patterns', that simply make the pair of jeans fit you better.. or at least look better on you. hard to describe
I guess women are more likely to wash their jeans more often because women tend to wear jeans that are really tight- so when you wear them they stretch out. In the past I'd toss them in the dryer and make them really hot to shrink them back up, but I have a high efficiency dryer now and it drys garments by sucking moisture out, not nuking everything and it has a sensor to stop drying when the garment is dry- so you can't put a pair of dry pants in and choose to dry them.
Socks after every time I wear them and jeans when they need it.
I actually read in a magazine if you fold your jeans up, put them in a bag, and put them in the freezer overnight it will kill the odor causing bacteria so you don't have to wash them. I guess that only works if you don't get stuff on them. I've yet to try it, but I suppose it would work.
Dont wear jeans, but pants in general get washed far less than anything else. On a side not, in honor of post number 400, here is another person not wearing jeans...
Ski socks will not preform properly unless washed every time you wear them. They absorb sweat the first wear and keep your feet warm, but after this they become saturated allowing sweat to build up and evaporate or even freeze causing your feet to get very cold.
Jeans is once every like 2 months unless I get them dirty. They don't really need it and they don't look dirty or smell, so why bother.
Ski socks is every time after I go on a stretch of skiing. At the end of the weekend if I go once or twice. But if I'm going 5 days in a row before I take a break it will be after the last time. I only have one pair and don't want to get back and do laundry so my socks are clean for the next day. Not worth it IMO
This is wrong. Putting the jeans in the freezer will prevent new grody bacteria from growing but it won't do anything to get rid of whats already there.
I wash jeans like once a month and ski socks after every time I ski in them (but I wear them with normal clothes too before skiing in them). So Jeans less.
after 15 days of not washing jeans, that's the dirtiest they can get. bacteria stops forming. so if you don't spill shit on your jeans you can go forever without washing them really.
