I'm 18 right now, but my personal gift that I will give to myself when I turn of age is one of these:

Beretta Stampede, in .45 Colt with a 7.5in barrel.
I really like the older 19th Century single action revolvers. Unfortunatley its hard to find a shootable, CHEAP remake of the Colts and S&Ws so I have no problem with going with a replica like the ones above.
What is everyone getting theirselves for their 21st?
 
how much shit do you have to go through to get a liscense for one of those where ever you live?
 
Be 21 and apply for a permit to purchase permit. (If you plan on buying from a dealer). You don't need a permit to own any weapon in Iowa. I won't be applying for concealed carry since I frankly dont need it. These would be used for hunting and plinking.
 
Here in Vermont, you do not even need a permit to conceal carry. AK and VT are the only two states where you are not required by law to have a permit in order to conceal carry. You can also open carry.
You're in the clear as long as you stay away from schools and federal buildings while your carrying.
Personally, I wouldn't mind a .45 ACP Kimber 1911

What are you goign to do when the zombie apocalypse comes? Everybody knows that a baseball bat is a great secondary weapon since it doesnt run out of ammo, but a pistol is much more effective.
 
Nice choice, my dad carries the kimber SIS model in a .45 acp as his secondary weapon for the swat team, and it is by far my favorite production model 1911 to shoot. It kinda sucks being his stoner son though lol

guns are made for killing. I don't really see what you need a gun for if you're not gonna kill something with it. And i doubt you're actually gonna go hunting with a handgun, although some people do.
 
I have fired the top rifle: lee enfield if i am correct? i have fired both the .22 conversion and the .303 it has a hell of a kick!

I strongly recommend you go to your local cabelas and ask to hold one of these. you will realize, nobody in there right mind would ever need such a big stupid handgun.
