Played?...not really there weren't many produced. not sure is USA but only 30 of them in Canada

Price? maybe it was expensive for salomon to make a suit but not mass produce it.

Popular? Yea maybe thats why people think its played? Seriously not many people have gotten to ride a season with it unless they're hooked up by salomon. Its more popular not played. People want it, cant afford it, and there arent enough for everyone.

poll holders? kinda handy is you dont like them just unclip them.
 
i think its got way too much hype for an outwear thing... yea its pretty cool and zomgz hernik wore it... but im mean come on kids... go to factory for you and get way more G shit for less
 
it is what it is, i think its pretty sweet, first salomon suit that i've really liked or heard much about. haters are jealous? perhaps...
 
well i always see kids on ns talking about the g-suit, but honestly, i dont really care about the latest in ski fashion so ive never bothered to see what it was
 
I think the G-Suit is sick, and I like the style Salomon was shooting for, and I think more ski companies should go in this direction.

HOWEVER, I do think that since it is so unique and stylish that it will be played out.

Just my 2 cents.
 
a lot of hype, for good reason. Henrik wore it, joey won it.
a lot of haters, but, hey...It is the epitome of white-kids-who-ski-gangsta, and not everyone is cool with that. I like it, but i draw the line at a tall tee and an xl jacket
 
they could have done better by it, maybe made it in more than one colour scheme instead of having to choose just red and white.
 
i gots it. i think that most people who hate on it are either jealous and cant afford it or they have never seen it in person. i was never that crazy about it until i saw it in the store. right when i saw it i knew i had to git it. dont hate on it if u havnt seen it in person cuz it is 10x sicker. IMO
 
I think the G-Suit is the new 3.5 pant - I just hope the quality isn't the same standard
 
price aside i think it looks decent, not my style but a buddy back home got it and says its nice. the determining factor for him was the pole holders :D
 
in my eyes, it's almost counterproductive for companies to make that kind of stuff. all last winter i saw a couple of people rolling through keystone's park with that outfit. it's so loud that you can't help but notice every time they pass. i don't want to see that outfit anymore after last season, much less spend a bunch of money to wear one myself. i felt the same way about the helly hansen survival outfit. i thought it was cool, i even had one ordered for myself through my shop. but i decided not to buy it because too many pros were already wearing it the year before. it took all the novelty and creativity away from the outfit for me. that's just my two cents.
 
i think its pretty sweet looking, but at the same time i don't think its the coolest thing lauched by salomon outerwear. i would buy the conpiracy one piece instead.
 
I THINK THIS THING IS THE MOST OVERRATED PIECE OF CRAP YET. i sorry. but wow. it is absurd how many of you have this thing. do you realize how lame its gonna be when you are all wearing the same exact 500 dollar suit... and every single person i have seen so far in it it looks like a dress// and a very lame attempt at being thug. for christ sake.. skiing is the whitest thing ever.

I just don't like how huge it is. I'm not that into huge baggy stuff, and then they added that flap onto the back waist of the coat, so I just hate it. I'm more in the league of the loose fit.

you do realize that there are only 30 g suits available in all of Canada right? And you also realize that LD is already sold out and hasn't even shipped yet right? I'm not even getting into the number of people inquiring/purchasing saga. I'll let you do the math.
 
^^^ to the people above me. i have heard there are only 30 in canada.. but there must be a shitload here either that or the only people who own them are ns'ers// either way. ew.. i just dont get it.. i appreciate saga and i like a lot of the other outwerwear but the gsuit in particular is just soo silly to me.. the jacket looks like a dress on every little loaded kid ive seen so far who has one.. i mean mobility is a daunting task in that shit. its just sad that its gotten like this..

i mean like only 5 years ago everyone was wearing the same boring ass earth toned helly hansen/orage shit and it didnt fucking matter cause they were throwing down and that is what mattered
 
finally hear what chicks think of the suit....dang my chances are that much better for not having one.

What other jacket can turn short little boys into something resembling a vending machine. That my friends is inovation.
 
i think its over hyped. its cool if your into that mega huge steezy thug style, but im not into that. but the suit all in all is cool. just way to big.
 
WOW. pretty much one of the saddest things ever... you are telling me that you care more about the way you look on the mountaun than if you can actually even ski worth a shit. thats gross.

there is a stigma being created about this suit that lets everyone know you're a look at me trend whore.
 
Good job of putting words in his mouth. I believe he said, "now it's about outerwear style TOO", hence the too. He never said anything even remotely close to what you said. Also, you said above that 5 years ago everyone was wearing the same fitted earth tones, yet you're complaining that 30 kids have the same white/red outfit? Come on now. Let people buy and wear what they want. It's their own style. Style is all about the individual. So you go wear your fitted earth tones and were gonna go wear out jackets down to our knees, and that's just how it is. So get over it.
 
lol dude. you're totally mising the point.. i like neon colors and somewhat baggy. the point about the earth toned outerwear from a couple years ago was that it didn't matter! it was about the skiing! maybe i misread what dude said, but nevertheless.. there are def more than 30 people in the US with those things.. and its more than 500 dollars just so they can look like something they're not. that 500 dollars could be so much better off pointed toward a new pair of skis or a trip to another resort. this is my point. now i am done and i dont care i you all minimize my karma just because i think that thing is totally silly. ill have a laugh when i see the kids who cant even bend their knees because their 500$ salomon suit is too gangsta
 
I respect your viewpoint whole heartedly. And also, I'll be the first to admit I exaggerated your "earth tone/fitted clothing" comments. But on the other side of things, I'm on of those kids that wears a tall coat down to their knees and size XL pants, but that's just what I like to wear. Granted I didn't spend $500 on my outfit and I think that spending $650 on an outfit is ridiculous, but if someone wants to buy it more power to them, more power to the industry. Are you trying to say that skiing today isn't actually about the skiing though? Correct me if I'm wrong, but competitions and video parts aren't fashion shows, skiing is still the #1 priority, am I right? You may go to your local mountain and find kids wearing flashy huge clothing but they're not just walking around the mountain looking good. They're looking good and trying to progress their skiing at the same time, and for some people maybe looking good makes them feel better and give them the confidence they need to ski better? It's different for everyone. That's why we label it style. Everyones is different, it's about individuality. Now I'm gonna go to bed, I'm half asleep. Peace.
 
word i would hope it's like that, that it is about style while also progressing. its just it doesnt seem like it when the longest thread in ski gabber is about what everyone is gonna be wearing this sesaon. and so much of the talk on here is about clothes/apparel/etc. anyway we could argue it to the death but the point is pretty much mute
 
500 dollars isnt really that expensive...your probably paying for extra material and stuff they had to use to make it cause its long....also if your spending all that money on ski pants and a jacket thats still about skiing. I dunno i didnt intend this thread to get like this it was more do you think it looks cool or not? cause really people like to look good while skiing if you dont like to look good fine. if you want to argue that look at the 26 page post a pic of your outerwear thread. but just cause you like to look good and your rich doesnt mean anything. Hating on rich people is really pathetic. Especially if its about a 750$ ski set up. because you dont have to be rich to own that all your need is 2 paychecks from a fast food job. i mean come on look at those 800$ gor tex acteryx jackets you dont hate on those people do you? for real, lots of rich kids rip it up on the slopes cause they can offord to go to c.o.c and hood all summer. not to mention if your just jealous some one has cash to blow, so get over it cause everyone knows that if they had the spare money they would buy stuff too. P.S do you displike tall tees too because dont ty and tell me those dont look like dresses. i think everyone think he suit is played cause evceryone knows about it. so if you consider knowing about something makes it played sure. but really not many people get the suit.
 
...oh yea and if someone is willing to spend the money on it. good on them suuporting the ski industry and psending there money on ski stuff. If someone spends that much money on ski stuff obviously its for their love of skiing and that they are up there all the time riding. I love skiing and i never regret blowing money on it. and so what if our biggest thread is our ski gear. sure the thread says post yourouterwear but a lot of thos epics include skis. so yea maybe you should think about that. im not critisizing you or tying to pick a fight but if your into skiing and dont care what you wear it has nothing to do with this thread. but to me my outerwear is part of my skiing. this must sound absolutely completely amazingly ridiculous but im stoked to do bigger better tricks when im wearing outerwear im stoked on instead of something like jeans and a leather jacket. but thats just me.
