Alright NS, let’s get serious.

What do you guys think of the future? Near or distant.

It could be anything. I’ve heard how cancer will be like “the common cold” in the future. Food will be much like space food, and in pill form. We will have humans on Mars soon. We will be able to communicate telepathically and link our brains to the internet. Will we get nuked by North Korea?

I for one am not an advocate of linking our brains to the internet.

I can also see our race evolving to the point of extinction, whether that’s in 50 years or 2,000 years.

The younger generation is fucked. At parties, it seems like every girl was just suckin on a vape. So many people these days have no depth to them at all, and are super selfish and disingenuous. For college kids and younger with actual communication skills, goals, etc., I think it’s gonna be tough finding someone to spend your life with if that is something you want.

Anyways, what do you think NS? What’s good? What’s bad? What do you want to see? What do you want to change?
 
i kinda hope that we do get nuked by North Korea. the US talks a lot of shit and Trump is dishing it out pretty hard to North Korea so he better be ready to get served. i dunno why ppl bother North Korea so much they just mind their own business. so ya, the US should get nuked by DPRK. other than that, i think the future is friendly? i dunno, im still waiting for vending machines that sell used thongs to come to my neighborhood, but i can wait. i am a patient man. but still u know, a guy has needs. like i would love to step out of my house and walk a few blocks to a panty machine where i could put in a few dollars to get a fresh pair of used thongs to smell and wiff. yum yum yum the smell of a used thong in my tum. oooooh weeee wouldnt that be great? who doesn't love the scent of a used thong? am i rite? a fruit, thats who doesnt like the smell. but fruits are fruiiiiiity
 
The 90’s were the peak of human civilization, more technology =/= less problems, ironic considering technology is meant to make life easier. I agree with the statement you made in the OP about people being fake and having no social skills. Seems like most teenagers I talk to now are boring and shallow people who think drinking beer and saying unoriginal phrases like “for the boys” is the coolest thing ever.

I think there’s hope for America and the rest of the world if we survive this presidency. Things have always improved throughout history, it’s human nature to make things better than they were.

tl;dr: if trump doesn’t destroy us, we’ll probably be alright
 
The sooner the baby-boomers die, the better. Every single deep garbage shit hole that we have to dig ourselves out of in the next decades is all because of them. Housing prices? Income disparity? Global Warming? For profit wars? All of it.

As soon as that generation lets go of their death grip on society, then we can start moving forward.

If anything significant at all is going to happen it's going to happen in our lifetime(Mind Blown). Then again that's how all of history is played out, you think the vikings didn't think of this shit maaaan?
 
Social media/phones is fucking hard with the newest generation of kids. Everybody is sayin that that shit is bad, but nobody is doing anything about it. If one more of my students asks me what my fucking candy crush score is imma blow my stack.

I don’t think phones/social media is bad. But it can be for sure. Like said above, the whole “for the boys”, “still gonna send it”, etc etc is unhealthy. I also think it’s unhealthy to give a kid a smartphone before they get to high school.

I mean its not just the "fads" and wierd trends. Long term exposure to modern internet/social media will fuck up the way you think. Its bad enough with adults, but it can do mad shit to developing brains.
 
I mean sure there will be a ton of technological advances in the near future but I still think my generation, along with the one after that is kinda messed...the problems with vaping in my school and shitty trends like it are getting fucking ridiculous. I don't give a fuck if you vape or if you need pods for your juul to survive, it doesn't make you a better person or a cooler person.

Social media is inherently unhealthy however I still can see its potential for it to be used as an actual platform to share content, but recently all I've noticed are how all the girls in my school use it to help deal with their crippling low self esteem and give each other hollow compliments to deal with it. Social media shouldnt be used to give yourself an "ego" boost or to demonstrate to everyone else how much better you are then them.

The shitty trends like the ridiculous amount of times I've heard people the same age as me say certain "in" phrases like "send it for the boys" or "do it for state" or whatever with an audience who all circle jerk these overused unoriginal phrases in an effort to be cool is also unhealthy as others have said.

The world was not destined so that everyone is same, it was never intended that society has to be carbon copies of ourselfs with only one standard for physical appearance or one person's definition of what it means to be "in" or cool.

Hopefully as we advance into the future we can leave all of this behind us though, hopefully we wake up at some point and finally realize the detrimental things that we are doing and fix it...
 
As fun as driving can be, driverless cars would be pretty fucking sick. Go to sleep in the back of your car at home and program it to arrive at the ski hill by 7am or whatever. Would work great if you live 5+ hours away like I do and have a tedious drive every weekend.

It would be hilarious to see 'drunk drivers' (or riders, i guess) pick the wrong location and then end up 10 hours away from home.

I just hope the distant future has snow, I love my long, scenic drive skiing but sleeping for those 2 hours would help.

Satellites are everywhere now, we are talking about going to mars. Shit is getting out of hand.

Ten years ago I was hoping that a bio suit with a built in jetpack would be released within my lifetime. You can buy one currently for $1 million. I bet you could pick some scifi shit that you want to be developed within your lifetime and it will be out (not for the average consumer) in the next 10 years.
 
Cant remember where, but I read that if humans fuck up this Earth and go extinct, it would take the Earth about 1,000 years give or take to complete clean itself and get back to a stable level. If you believe that the Earth is 4.5byo or whatever, thats basically like having a stomach ache for a day and then getting better. I just hope humans can work together. It is the only chance we have if we want to survive.
