well i wont go deep into it but i believe it is over money and power. first of all haliburton has no bid job offers over there allowing them to make millions of dollars at the expense of the american people. cheney used to be the big wig of haliburton. if you think about truthfully, what are the iraqi people doing to us that is inhibiting our freedom? absoutely nothing, we should be fighting a war on terror, not a war on iraq. it seems to me more terrorist are coming from iran and syria, if anything we have escalated the terrorist cause and gave them something more to fight for.

I have no problem with america, or americans. This thread is about the millitary yo called me out so I addressed the issue with you personaly I dont need to call some one out on this message board. I think the war is bull shit, Australia is there too so is england all countires are equally to blame. They interviewed some one on the news today who lived in Tirket today and asked him why he doesnt help the american troops he said that even today 4 years after the war has started that the building he lives in still has no Electricity or Gas and there are more bombings and people getting killed now than before so why should he help american troops?. Are we doing a good job over there ?? no do you wanna go to war and fight to make some white guy richer maybe if so good for you maybe you are helping the iraqui people in your own way, but overall they are worse off now than before.

I am lamenting the lack of options for many people in our society, and how easily they are preyed on by military recruiters offering an easy way out.
 
this is soo true I was at a Motobike store in San Bernadio near LA about 7 weeks ago during this huge sale and this hummer rolls up with all these go army stickers on the side they stop pull out a tent and open the back that has some subs in it and some gay tvs with all these army adds on and they pull out a table put on some shitty music and proceded to sign people up right there out the front of a motorcross store in my opinon using these kinds of marketing tactics is fucked up. In Mike mores movies it shows how they pick on poor neighbour hoods and people who have nothing and trick them into going to war.

By enlisting and serving in the army, you are helping support the American international political agenda. Through being a teacher, my dad is supporting the developement of knowledge in today's youth.

 
your not listening i never spoke with a recruiter intil i had researched everything on my own then I called a recruiter sat down and said i dont want to hear your speech this is the job i want in the guard if you cant get me that im gone...sure as shit i got that job...I work on aircraft in a hanger in ohio...i am recieving a free degree in engineering at the ohio state universitry...and like i said im already certified in my career field on the civilian side...I promise you once i graduate in 2 years i will be doing testing on aircraft for some major airline in a hub making more than enough money...and guess what i will never i mean never have to pick up a weapon the whole time...Im not even issued one!!!

But your right it was a bad choice
 
MY point was you said ppl who join the military are whats wrong with us...thats fine believe that if you want...but i don't further any agendas fact is if we didn't join they would just bring back the draft causing your ass to be in or flee to Canada which im sure you would...and trust me ud live a great life in hiding becuz if u were found up there they would turn u back over to the US government...so ppl volunteering aren't hurting n e thing just giving u the right not too!

Im not saying your wrong its an opinion, i respect that but i enjoy the bonuses i get from the military im not brainwashed i dont buy into to n e thing they tell me...I am here to get an education and a great job out of this...Im not a lifer after my enlistment is up im gone!!
 
naw man, I think if they reinstated the draft, it would be protested until they got rid of it. I know so many kids (not just my friends by any means- Some of them are conservative anyway).

I have nothing against the army. I just hate nationalists who say join the army coz your country will be proud on you and you will protect it from all the bad things.

I read some pretty fun stuff in this thread about you gotta be proud that you live in the most powerful country in the world. Wel let me ask you a question... Do you all think that you have personally more power then any person in europe australia or whatever? Coz thats like nonsense... Yeah your government maybe and your economy... but you guys better start worrying about china, india etc. Cause they will take over some day if you dont all change ur attitude.

Europe is globally more civilised then the US. And you guys could def rule the world with your economy, if some ppl start using their brains and think about the rest of the ppl. Think about what Truman did: Marshallhulp. If you guys would do that in Iraq, you would not only give a huge grow to your own economy those ppl would also really like you and you could def control those countries way easier. (of course there would be some rules and some concessions for buying stuff.) But look what it did to Europe after WW2 and how it helped your economy a lot...

Im def not a hippy or anything. I def laugh at ppl who say those things. I just believe in free trade with as little rules. I prefer that we all get civilised so we can stay skiing, live in a big mansion. Instead of going to the army to go to college…

 
Well ne way i got $20,000 signing bonus, I have already recieved training for Non Destructive Testing totaling about $50,000, and Iwill recieve a $100,000 education for free...not to mention they are giving me about $900 a month just to work 2 days...and its only for a few more years....

So i really could give 2 shits what you really think...because you were raised by a man who taught u to walk away from situations you couldnt handle so im happy with agenda helping!!
 
I agree with alot of what you said and it would all be nice..but unfortunately its not how it works...so until that day the best way for me to get an education was joining the air national guard im happy with my decision
 
yeah i undertand. But it sucks that you have to choose for the army to go to college. If you would have lived in europe you would automatically go to university. Government would pay almost everything for you.

Btw I really respect what you do for your education! Props man!
 
Lets see border security...disaster relief such as Katrina, floods, tornadoes...humanitarian aid in Africa...relief when the tsunami hit...stepping in when say Saddam was gassing ppl in kuwait...Bosnia!!!

Well Micheal Moore is a moron to start.

A lot of those poorer people who sign up are given ooportunities they couldn't have outside of the military. My grandfather was poor as you can imagine, almost evicted from his already crappy home (the real ghetto). He joined the military and was trained as a chemical engineer (his family was poor so he never finished school cuz he was always working, really smart though). 5 years later he decided to leave the military and was offered a job at a car design place. Great opportunity for him.
 
oo but according these kids he was lied to and tricked into joining the military, im sure ur grandpa is greatful to what the military provided him...haha u kids need an education...lets be serious whether your poor rich smart dumb white black...everyone knows what the word military means...they dont dress up in a clown suit and tell u that ur joining the circus!

And it does give many of those ppl opportunities they never would have had...yes there is an element of risk and thats really only if your on the front lines!! But lets get real stepping into a car is a risk how many ppl r killed in car wrecks each year? Should i stop driving cuz im scared of taking a risk
 
Apart from all the dying and killing and stuff. Jobs in the Military can be good. People with very little education can get a decent wage (although it is to risk their lives) rather than work in a packing factory for the rest of their lives. Also practical jobs like engineers get paid a lot, and the job opportunities afterwards are enormous. Almost considered it, then thought naaaah.

 
its all about money over here though and so many ppl make bank off of universities they arent giving that up anytime soon...and they have the money to keep it that way!!

Im glad your steadfast in your beliefs, but i dont see a problem with my choice,I am being trained to work on aircraft for free and recieving the education to do so...which is what i wanted to do civilian and i will now def get to do so in a few years...

fair enough. your situation is pretty different then most people's in the army. My arguements are more towards the standard situation of someone serving in the army.
 
thats really all it is for me...im not here for the cause or becuz of 9 11...i want to work on aircraft not fighters not military planes juat commercial airliners...im in no means rich and could never afford the training or education it would take to achieve this goal. i am not trying to tell u to change ur opinion its great not to believe in war and joining, but your views(which many ppl have)about the troops involved!!

MY situation is not that different...In fact in basic training my TI asked to to raise our hands on why we joined...only 3 out of 56 raised their hand to "To serve your country. About 35 to "for the free college education" so knock bush and be pissed about the war but if u do the numbers...if they didnt offer free education they would not have enough ppl...ultimately leading to a draft putting all you ppl that cry to us we are murders at risk of having to join or live in hiding in canada!!

a lot of people would agree that you are what is wrong witht he country

if i was drafted or something i would go into service to do whatever they need. if it was for this war i sure as hell would not support it, but i would go out of respect and support for every other soldier that has fought for the country. yeah government is corrupt more than we can imagine, but my life in america is pretty nice even with things the way they are.
 
because all of the money they get is from us. all of our products are produced there. without the u.s. china would not have money thus their economy would collapse and they would look like some country from eastern germany.
