What do you think about buying a new ski brand

I don't know if it will be a good choice to buy a pair of Talisman by Revision (https://revisionskis.com/ ) because I know nobody riding them so I can't have an opinion on those skis. So it's brings me to this question : What do you think about buying to a new ski brand?

i bought a pair of jskis and they were fairly new and upcoming and i fucken love them. the bonus about buying from a new brand is also the fact that they usually will do good deals and returns if you dont like them, plus how mad is it too have a pair of skis which hardly anyone else has on your home mountain!

Well I bought some batalla park reapers. This is the second year they are in production. Solid company even tho I haven't ridden mine yet (just order a week ago). Not a lot of people have ridden them. But the reviews I have gotten are on point. Idk if I would have bought my batallas if there was no review. Idk if I would personally buy a ski that no one has reviewed.

But think of it this way. What no one tried out ON3P? They would be bankrupt and out if business by now if no one tried them out with out reviews. Some people in the ski community need to lay down some money on new skis/ companies if we want to see new companies emerge in the community.

Stoked you like them! thanks for spreading the word

i took my chances and bought some new kitten factory rayzrblaydz. theyre the same build as on3p just less rocker. once i ride them im gonna be writing reviews all over the place about them. im sure theyll do fine.

Buying blind is always a huge risk especially if it's a smaller brand where getting good reviews and write ups can be hard. I would always suggest demoing and buying something you know works for you An you like. But if you want to buy blind try to find as much info as you can which can be hard and be aware that they may just not suit you an you may hate them. Of course you may love them but it's a gamble.

I'd say do as much research as you can online about whatever skis you're interested in and then talk to some people in the industry, like guys from your local ski shop. Then demo if you can. Thats what I did when fat-ypus released they're first skis and I was thinking of getting a pair.

i have bought 3 pairs of skis "blindly" (i havent ever demoed) and i have loved each pair. just try to find as much info and ask around as much as possible before buying.

my friend bought some of the revision skis. he said fuck it, they're 180 and he likes the dimensions. i think he's right, worst case scenario is theyre not very durable right?

Yeah I'm sure theyll do fine. Some skis are more durable than others but they shouldn't be a problem. And if they don't last just pick up a cheap used pair for the rest of the season.

Like I said before, if no one bought blindly for companies like ON3P, they would not be around. Revision could be one if the best companies, we just don't know until we ski them.

revision skis used to be epic planks which to my knowledge were BADASS skis so definetly buy a pair theyre cheap!!!!!

Did you happen to get how thick the edges are on their skis? I was thinking I was going to buy some 9's for about the same price to just thrash the shit out of for cheap.

I know the talismans are 2.2 by 2.2 edges and bases are 1.6
