But also ski boots.

My boots fit my feet better and more comfortably than any of my other shoes and that made me so much better at skiing (i hope lol). I get that its pretty expensive though which is an obstacle for many people

14128916:.FRY. said:I used to ski race, and some of the people I competed with were the most obnoxious entitled spoiled brats I have met in my life. New skis every season, no regard for other people's equipment. Kids would knock an entire rack of skis over and trample them or jokingly throw an unattended pair gloves in the trash. Parents would drive Mercedes SUVs and expect their kid to win, getting pissed if they fell or DNFd. Not everyone was like this, but a lot of people were. Enough for there to be a stereotype. That was race culture, but still, skiing is an expensive sport. While there are always locals who are lucky enough to be able to ski, I think there's an overwhelmingly larger amount of people that travel from cities and have money. Unfortunately they're necessary for keeping the resorts open. In short, money creates privilege which creates entitled attitudes.
