What do you hate about skiing

I hate the early season at my resort because it takes us a decent amount of time to setup the park and the whole time the boys are just fiending out tryna grease a rail but we can’t because they gotta blow snow on the main hill
 
I also don’t like how all these super dope up and coming skiers use ig as a landfill for their minute long cheeseball trap edits when they could just combine 2 of those and make a banger edit and put it on NS where the viewers are actual skiers that will truly appreciate what their doing.
 
Driving in the snow on pow days. I get so nervous but the worst drives usually make for the best days skiing so I guess you gotta give and take a little bit.

Damn, so true ! Driving 30mins in the bad weather with some chances to get out the road with your car to get a lots of fun in the pow pow worth it? of course ahaha ...
 
Living soooo far from any real vert, and even the local resorts are just boring even in the best of conditions.

However recent events and early season killing closures have taught me to appreciate the lil things more

Anyone who finds their boots uncomfortable need to try new boots and a bootfitter. My boots fit my feet better and more comfortably than any of my other shoes and that made me so much better at skiing (i hope lol). I get that its pretty expensive though which is an obstacle for many people

Huge facts. I hate that people still judge others for how they ski man, skiing is complete liberty. It’s the way that anyone can express themselves without having to worry about what other people think. If you wanna swerve around like Magnus then go for it. If you wanna ride skinny stiff park skis and spin 810s on to rails like Jesper, have at it.

I also absolutely despise how little awareness and education there is when it comes to park skiing (or skiing through the park). Entitled as fuck parents and their stupid kids who just ski around features, snake people, and endanger both themselves and the people who are there to actually hit the features need to be educated.

Rossi AllTrack 120s and they were heat molded. At first i tried the AllSpeed 110s and couldnt even finish a run they were so painful so the shop upgraded me for free. It was sorta better but I did feel a lot of control through the pain. After a season they were way better and two seasons later they have fully formed to my feet and are absolutely perfect. It's about time i get a Booster strap though, skiing park takes some stiffness away after a few years.
 
I feel like all the quiet unknown ski areas in Washington have become overcrowded 100 dollar a day fuck shows. Before COVID Crystal mountain just quit selling day passes because their parking lot would get full, so they set up a shuttle and then that got full. The hoards of people that ski where I grew up skiing alone is nauseating and it makes me hate skiing.

The people that make huge slow turns and then as you're passing them decided to make a sharp turn in your direction.
 
Power hungry yellow jackets. I actually like most yellow jackets and in extremely poopulated areas I get it. But when the run is wide open and im just cruisin switch on the side near NO ONE i dont need some boomer who failed at raising his kids to threaten my ski privligages.

I also hate the negative environmental impacts there are for something that connects people to nature.

I used to ski race, and some of the people I competed with were the most obnoxious entitled spoiled brats I have met in my life. New skis every season, no regard for other people's equipment. Kids would knock an entire rack of skis over and trample them or jokingly throw an unattended pair gloves in the trash. Parents would drive Mercedes SUVs and expect their kid to win, getting pissed if they fell or DNFd. Not everyone was like this, but a lot of people were. Enough for there to be a stereotype. That was race culture, but still, skiing is an expensive sport. While there are always locals who are lucky enough to be able to ski, I think there's an overwhelmingly larger amount of people that travel from cities and have money. Unfortunately they're necessary for keeping the resorts open. In short, money creates privilege which creates entitled attitudes.
