What do you guys use to protect your video camera?

I've always been wondering that... when the skier comes by really close to the camera on powder shots, and he kinda sprays the video camera. just like it's done in this edit quite a few times https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/videos/id/231210/

maybe a plastic bag or something like that? but what about the lense?

seran wrap works wonders. Its cheap and its easy to just wrap around it a couple of times and it sticks to itself. Thats what we do.

ok, you can always use some kind of seran wrap or trash bag to protect the body, but what do you put in front of the lens?

we want to get shots in the powder where we somehow spray the camera

You use a lense filter. Just find the size of your filter mount and go out and get a ND filter. Or a clear one. They are cheap replacable and will protect your lense.

Gotta be careful with this, could lead to overheating if the air can't circulate around the camera. I'd go for a trash bag over saran wrap just to be extra safe.

well, i don't think it will overheat because we're out in the snow and it's cold, and i guess those cameras were designed to funktion up to, let's say 80-90 degrees.

but you're probably right, shouldn't be asking for it...
