The picture is fake. As far as the huge life forms, it is improbable but not impossible. They would have to have some sort of food source down their, and with no light some kind of sonar system to map their surroundings.
The ocean awesome, epic, beautiful, powerful, and cool, it has the best fishing, and I HATE freshwater in lakes/ponds because of it. So lame compaired to the big blue. saltwater 4 lyfe
fly fishing is actually a TON of fun, and you can definitely catch some epic fighters. I've only caught trout and little guys though so I can't compare it to the big fish I've landed in the ocean quite yet
I've always been fascinated by the deep sea, and ocean life in general. The critters down there are so much different than any terrestrial life, and I love the sort of creepy/otherworldly feel the depths have.
Doesn't bother me, but I surf and spend a lot time in the ocean. Although I respect the fact that the ocean is way stronger than me and could wipe me out in a second.
It doesn't necessarily make me uncomfortable, it intrigues me. i have always loved the ocean and i'm on/in the sea quite a bit, so I have crown more or less comfortable with it. But just knowing how vastly different of a world it is down there and how truly massive it is makes it seem like it could be another planet. The sea is is vast and I believe could still hold some unfound secrets
You guys both know I'm sure, but fly fishing in the ocean can be pretty damn cool also.
with that said, deep ocean intrigues me. The ocean in general scares me a bit but only because of the raw power and danger of the open water. You're more likely to be sucked out in an undertow or small craft blown offshore than some sea monster coming up and grabbing you. I do still get butterflies though when a couple hundred yards out though in a kayak.
I'm becoming more comfortable in the water though, you just have to realize the chances of something dangerous being nearby let alone attacking you are very very slim.
I think we should have been exploring the ocean floors instead of space honestly.
dude i couldn't agree with you more, i never understood that. why are we wasting time and getting ahead of ourselves looking outside of this planet when we have barely even scratched the surface of our own. there have been so many instances of archaeology and history deeming ancient trade cities as myths, only to uncover those actual cities later in time, causing them to rewrite history. so much is submerged beneath the sea, i wish we would spend more time and effort on it.
i love the ocean, but i also have a healthy fear/respect for it. scuba diving is one of the most dangerous sports there is just because of the currents that sweep you deep under before you even know what to do. even on popular beaches in california, if you aren't careful you can get swept out by a rip tide in just a few minutes and give the lifeguards something to do. the raw power of the ocean is extremely humbling, and you are way better off respecting that.
and the deep ocean is cool. i definitely think theres a ton of creatures of many different sizes that we haven't found.
If I can see bottom then I'm fine with swimming in the ocean but over deep water, not a chance. At the lake I don't care but I'd rather board over deep water.
As far as the deep sea I would totally go down in a submarine or research vessel to the bottom to look at stuff.
I never really cared about it cause whenever I've been in the ocean I've essentially been shallow enough to touch, and if not then just a little further out
