Other than good music, what do you as NSers love to see in a concert? What really pumps you up? Certain lights? Huge bass?

I have a very close relationship for the tech crew for the stage on which I will be performing on and for my first public gig I want to make a great first impression, so there's not much I can't do.

a mix, actually. mostly hip-hop (me solo) but then my roomie and I are later doing a piano/violin/vocals (I play violin and sing) version of the song "drops of jupiter" by train and "hotel california" by the eagles, in which we're bringing in a guitarist and drummer.

i dont really give a shit as long as the music is hooked up right. if i cant hear the beats or the mic is too low...im out.

yeah, haha, that's what I thought before my roommate told me I should carry out what I thought sounded cool. He was on a bit of a slump in trying to learn piano, but then he wanted to play the train song in a talent show and he thought that violin sounded good with it, so I'm helping him out with that and in turn we're doing it at my show too. And we just plain love the eagles, "hotel california" is our favorite song of all time. So we're complementing the hip-hop with a soft rock song, and an amazingly awesome classic rock song.

Wow I cannot believe I said "I are" up there.

when its a song where everybody in the whole stadium pulls out their lighters and sings along.

gives me goose bumps.

Pyrotechnics, lasers, epic lights, Example: Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Most of all just have fun, if the dudes in the band just stand there scared shitless, then the crowd wont like it, but if your up jumping around getting into the music, then the crowd will have fun too.

yes, at pretty much all the shows I've been too I have screamed out freebird. Then the day came when I went to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. I screamed freebird the whole show and then they played it ahaha

wow if you have a million dollars you could put something on like Tran Siberian Orchestra. THeir equipment costs sooooo much $$..... it's sick though... I was watching the show and all of the sudden i saw a huge 20 ft. scissors lift start going up with little flames on the edges, 5 seconds later it blew fire and flames through the roof. It was redic to say the least.

But for your gig, I'd say just like the others said, have some fun and make sure it sounds good wherever you are playing. Different places, like arenas or a coffee shop give of different feedback shit.

I love Skynyrd, and they just happen to be family friends along with Marshall Tucker. Name drop! JEA! HAHA!

I happen to be a die-hard Eagles and Allman Bros fan, and can't get enough of Jessica.

GOOD SOUND! you can have all the (annoying) lights and whatever, but the best thing about a concert and thing i remember first is the sound quality and actually being able to HEAR the music

SLAAAAAYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

I like to see a huge pit of dirtbags fuckin moshing to shit along with a band of long haired gnarbags headbanging!!!!

moshing.

when the singer is weird and tells jokes and anecdotes (as long as they're not dumb jokes). one of the local bands here has an awesome vocalist and I laugh every time they play a set.

ENERGY... that is the number one thing that matters, the sound could suck ass at a show but how the band presents themselves determines on how much i want to go back and see them

also make the crowd feel like they are a part of your music

so just make sure you jump around and have fun... reach out into the crowd and if the venue is small enough go into the crowd and tear shit up
