What do you do to entertain yourself on the lift?

make up stories and then tell them to people

like that your from texas and you have never skied in your life

it works teh best when you have a friend so then the story is so fake by the time yoiu get off

its great

me and my friend got stuck on a lift for 45 minutes during a power outage once

we busted out bohemian rhapsody and got applause from the surrounding chairs

i live in the midwest so the funs arent very long...so i did that to my cousin one day. he was so pi ssed. it was funny.

thats the only time i've done that though

fuck yeah man i have a story like that too.

last year my cousin and i were skiing in breckenridge and we are talking to these two guys that are riding up with us. we tell them where we are from, and they proceed to tell us they grew up in charleroi literally 10 minutes from where we live and they were once ski patrol at 7 springs, where we ski. now they are pretty much 5 day a week skiers in colorado. i thought that was really cool.

anyways, what do i do on the lift. usually just talk to my buddies, listen to music, smoke occasionally, shout at hot girls, if im by myself i just talk to whoever is on the lift with me...

the lifts are only like 5 min. around here so not much to do...

I usually talk to people if I'm alone. You can meet so many people on the lift its ridiculous. If I'm with my friends I'll talk with them. Listen to music. Get snowballs before I get on the lift and throw em at gapers. If its a good lift on a real mountain you can scope lines, watch people, and think about what to do next.

The best lifts are the ones near a popular cornice or cliff or something and you can cheer for people or get cheered for which feels sick.

I make out with my girl, and i definately listen to music. You can also meet some cool people on chair lifts, youd be surprised that some old people think newschool skiing is really cool.

Word. Since when is being a general asshole/douche the cool thing to do especially saying people suck wtf is that maybe they are just learning how to ski park or ski in general no need to be an ass instead give them some pointers. Anyways when I'm on the lift I just talk to people if im alone or talk to friends, Sometimes its relaxing to just shut my eyes and chill on the way up.

I usually just chat with people on the lift, usually chat to the ski patrollers who ride with me, ask where some good spots are, terrain, sports, etc...

You find some really interesting people on the lifts.

pull each others skis off on the lift. then ski down to the park and throw them in the woods. always good fun

Yeah one time I rode up with this pretty old guy and it turns out he was in the fucken 10th mountain division in WWII. I have so much respect for those guys... But anyway, on the lift I just talk to my friends and shit, and just talk to people mostly. I dont do shit like spitting on people thats gay people are out having a good time so I try not to fuck their day up. Occasionally my friends and I will just mess with kids though with like kc chiefs jackets and i have to admit its pretty funny.

This may sound very childish but its fun. My homies and I sometimes play what we call "the last minute game". You have the bar down and then when your coming into the top of the lift or station you keep the bar down for as long as you can. Its a lot of fun and gets your blood pumpin!

jump off at low points, talk with friends/random people from chicago. use extreme and epic a lot when talking to someone who asks me what i do. music, call my mom, throw beads/random things from the arcade in the bead tree, hit tree branches with my poles, tap the lift towers, do some hardcore iron crosses, watch other people enjoying themselves on the snow, text friends, take some swe3t myspace pics!!1!1! (just kidding), sing songs, whistle, and just try and have a good time.

really? Thats pretty much all I do on lifts except I don't just do it on park lifts. I also like to pretend to have phone sex when I ride with some old stuck up gapers, occasionally I mix it up and actually have phone sex while on the chair. Real sex on a chair is one of my 07/08 season goals

look at the surroundings around me and think about how i would perceive it differently if i knew it was my last day on earth then ask myself why i don't look at things that way all the time.

me and my buds wll make a ew snowballs and stuff them in or jackets when we get on the chair lift and then we try and hit all the snowboarders

I like to just chil. If i'm solo, think about stuff that comes to mind - i often get some pretty rad ideas from my lift rides! If there are people, i'll have some chit-chat with 'em, maybe make some new friends... you never know! I've met some interesting people on some chairlifts, and once in a while, you meet somebody who ends up being in a pretty high position, and if you were nice and polite, it can actually get you places!

Great American writer from New England and writes a lot about nature.

"Many of the phenomena of Winter are suggestive of an inexpressible tenderness and fragile delicacy. We are accustomed to hear this king described as a rude and boisterous tyrant; but with the gentleness of a lover he adorns the tresses of Summer."

"The wonderful purity of nature at this season is a most pleasing fact. Every decayed stump and moss-grown stone and rail, and the dead leaves of autumn, are concealed by a clean napkin of snow. In the bare fields and tinkling woods, see what virtue survives. In the coldest and bleakest places, the warmest charities still maintain a foothold. A cold and searching wind drives away all contagion, and nothing can withstand it but what has a virtue in it, and accordingly, whatever we meet with in cold and bleak places, as the tops of mountains, we respect for a sort of sturdy innocence, a Puritan toughness. All things beside seem to be called in for shelter, and what stays out must be part of the original frame of the universe, and of such valor as God himself. It is invigorating to breathe the cleansed air. Its greater fineness and purity are visible to the eye, and we would fain stay out long and late, that the gales may sigh through us, too, as through the leafless trees, and fit us for the winter,—as if we hoped so to borrow some pure and steadfast virtue, which will stead us in all seasons."
