Seriously...do we need another one of these threads bashing racers. Listen, there are some really cool racer kids, and some that aren't as cool. Just like there are some really cool newschool kids and some assholes too. When you get right down to it....we're all skiing

I mean, this is a stupid arguement. Racers are gay, they're tools, blah, blah, blah. Again, the same could be said about tree skiers, big mtn. skiers, mogul skiers, groomer skiers, park skiers. The more you bring this up, the more we divide ourselves. We all have our own little niche in the skiing community and we all have fun doing our own thing

if racers stayed in between the gates and not in the terrain park, it'd be all good. be good at what your good at, but when a racer enters a big air (latitude 42), runs his mouth then does a double twister thats not even steazy, thats why they suck.

It always makes me wonder why so many people worry so much about what other people do? So a racer enters a big air comp and does a double twister. Shouldn't you be stoked because you should be able to beat that? Or do you think the racer was just entering the event for fun?

I don't have anything against ski racers. As much as ski racing is kinda a faggish sport i know it takes skill and stuff like that.

however i don't think much of ski racers. You see, ski racers learn to be very high up on themselves while racing. This is why racers are usually always bragging and exaggerating. If racers want more respect than they should try not bragging and acting like they own the mountain.

I used to think raceing was really gay but then i went out for my highschool team.I t is actually alot of fun. We leave early twice a week and get to go skiing for free what could be better than that. Also it really does help your skiing skills. Also more than half the kids twin tip to so there not as gay as there met out to be.

 
they know how to ski, thats why many of the pros are so good, because they started out by racing. I actually wish I had, it would have been really helpful. But i just jumped right into freeskiing so its all good.

at my mtn most of the racer kids are real stuck up, but some of them are cool, and most of the girls that race are pretty cool, but u also dont really see that many newschool kids at my mtn, only like maybe 20 kids i know of that have twins and can pull anything better than a 180

racing helps your over all skiing abitity so much and for all who are saying racers are gay, watch a pro downhill race those guys are going around 70mph in some turns, racing like that takes balls

In my experience racers wear spandex and slap each others behinds, they also bend over to take 'lessons' from their coaches. Seriously, when me and my friend were going up the chairlift, there was this group of kids standing there without their skis on, in full spandex get-up, and they were doing like technique or something. They were all bent over with their asses hanging out and the coach was walking around behind them checking them out saying, 'Gooood, oh that's nice, awesome stuff...

i dont mind racers at all. sure, there are some assholes, but there are assholes everywhere in every sport. racing is definately an important partof skiing, however. i raced for 2 years, but have switched to newschool since then. racing made me a much better skier than i was before and it made me more confident and fearless, which is y racing is important.

skiing is skiing. i have plenty of respect for racers, what they do is just as hard as what we do, only in a different medium. i get a bit frustrated sometimes when racers bash on freeskiing and say that racing is so much harder than freeskiing. i disagree because i believe that putting together an x games winning run is just as hard as winning a downhill.

We are all skiers, I am a racer but I still watch freestyle and shit, but yeah i get annoyed by a shit load of racers but you cant judge the sport on a couple of immature racers.Its actually such a sick sport you get to travel all over the place to ski, and the best part is we ski minimum of 4 days a week that leaves 3 days of school and while your in school we might be able to hit some sick powder up in whistler while our race is canceld for too much snow.

used to race, learned how to do a 3 and after that all i wanted to do was hit jumps and shit so i quit. racers are fine in my book, except when they ride through the park and cut people off and shit
