What do people think about short skis?

I have been looking at the new Icelantic line this year and the scout is a 143. Is this way too short or is it just me?

for a ski that is only 105 underfoot, that sounds way too short, they would be real chattery at high speed and would float to well in deep stuff, I am only about 5'11" and 160 and i ride a 182 ski that is 115 under foot... But if you are mosty skiing super thick trees and stuff and not wide open bowls and faces, i could be pretty fun

im 5'8" 165 and riding 171's, last year i was on 176's

I'm 6'3, the shortest skis that I ski on are a 185. I suggest nothing shorter than a 180 for you.
there's a lot that factors into it, such as stiffness, what the ski is underfoot, how tall you are and how much you weigh, and what you are using them for, but a 143 is WAY too short for anyone that's taller than like 5 foot even

im 6'0 and 150lbs and i ride on 174's. i like them when im just skiing trails but i like my old 158's for park way better. they basically go up to my shoulders but they are really light and really soft. my skis i ride now just feel so long and stiff when im jibbing.

dude.... what the fuck. I'm 6' 1" and i skied on 176's last year and i thought those were too short for me. Now I'm on 181's you should be too. Short skis are fuckin gay if i saw you i'd chirp you even though im not a mean person but if you buy skis that short you deserve to be made fun of.

Ive heard that they are supposed to be ridden short, thats why they didnt make anything larger than a 161. 143 is honestly about the size of a snowlerblade. That is way shorter than most snowboards.

Depends on what you want to do. If all you go to the mountian for is buttering and technical rail tricks than get them but if you want to land kickers ski pow or carve the mountain get something bigger.
