What do I buy for Tuning

I am such an irresponsible skier and never tune my skis and just send them to the shop every year. What are some good Amazon kits that have waxers and edge tuning for not crazy expensive?

depending on what and how you ski, you can check out tuning gear like an edge tuner, or detuning tools like gummy stones/files

most NSers don't want sharp edges for the sake of rails though, in which case you probably just wanna get a little waxing iron, a scraper, and a couple kinds of wax and then you can wax your skis for almost free whenever you want

- Toko chrome file - 14 teeth/cm

- Gummy stone

- fine Diamond stone/fine grit sand paper

That’s if you want a quality detune. I usually do a base bevel too for rail skis but that’s not always necessary

^I didn’t read whole post and thought you were just talking about detuning

Wax and Iron. Put it on thick and smooth it out real nice. That's it. Once your bases get too jacked take them to the shop for a tune. Once a year or every other year on average.

Is this true?

Prob not but I never detune my skis and haven't had any issues but also ride skis (Poachers and allplays) that are generally regarded as durable so who knows

That’s how Jesper Tjader slid the 150m rail. He made his edges razer blades

Same reason you fill condoms with sand. Friction = speed.
