What DIN?

Whats a good din for freestyle because i pop out whn i land just a bit forward and its annoying.

im 5'2" and 110lbs, my Din is at like 3. And how do i change it?

with a philips head screwdriver in the back of the heelpiece and front of the toepiece

based on this chart, if you are a decent skier, you should be above 3 anyway, if you class yourself as a type 3 skier and depending on your BSL then anywhere from 5-6 should be fine

Get a screwdriver and turn clockwise gradually until you find you aren't coming out easily. No need to go straight to 6 though, you probably don't need it, test it at 4, then 4.5 then 5 and so on.

ps. Not sure what bindings you have but make sure you adjust the din setting, not the forward pressure

Or just take the skis into your shop
 
exactly. The smaller the BSL, the higher the DIN needed. Post your BSL (Boot Sole Length) which you can find on the side of the heel of your boot. It will be listed in mm. For example, my boots are a 315mm BSL. I think your din should be around 4-5.
 
Is it your toe or heel that pops out? Id say its your heel that pops out when you land a bit foward right?

I would recommend cranking up your rear din (only the rear!) by one and see how that work. If your front pops out too easely for your liking too, crank up the toe din by .5. I run my din higher on the heel than in the toe piece(a lot of pros do that too) cause it keeps my heels from pre-releasing when I land too foward or back and it still lets my toe release when needed so I dont injure my knee. Most knee injuries come from the toe not releasing and not the heel. Pep Fujas has his fks toe at like 9 and the heel at 11.....
 
oh and im not sure if its my toe or my heel popping i crash and my ski pops of thats it.......

welll whif your heel pops up does it make the heel peice stay up when you fall or go back down. Because most of the time when imy ski falls of the heel peice pops back down so all i have to do is step inot it again instead oh push it down then step into it.
 
so you can step into the bindings when the heelpiece is engaged?

if thats the case then your bindings are

1. fucked

or

2. Adjusted so terribly its a joke

What sort of bindings are they?
 
Well i mean sometimes when my skis pop off the heel peice goes back down like this:

umm I think you just read it wrong. and 3 is nuts, try like 5 or something and if that isn't enough just keep going up by 1 or .5 till you like it.
 
That means its your heel piece thats pops out most of the time so just like I said before, cranks up the heel din by 1 (dont touch the toe) and see how that works for ya.
 
aren't the bindings designed to release predominantly from the heel?

Thats my take on it anyway - therefore just because the heel is where the bindings release, doesn't mean that the din needs cranking any more than the toe?
 
this is just what i think. could be very worng.

but when you heel piece is still up that tells me my toe came out. and when its down then my heel peice popped out. if you think about it. seems right to me!
