consult a din chart for reccomendations, then adjust from there. if you pop out alot, crank them down 1/2 or 1 din.

You:

You probably want your din set around 7-9. In that area you will stay secure, but you aren't going to tear those silly ligaments if you eat it.

Your bro:

Well. Since he has less DIN flexibility than you, but wants tighter settings I would say probably 7-10, I'm not sure the conditions you ski in, but figure this: Higher DIN for softer snow, because it's more forgiving and such, and lower DIN for harder snow.

You can also always adjust while at the mountain, just bring a screwdriver.

Uh, WAYYYY off.

For you: if your 120 lbs, 5'6, and a 307mm BSL, you dont need a DIN nearly that high. No offence, and sorry to burst your bubble, your not a very strong skier, yet. You will definately progress, but at most, your a trype 2 skier.

I used the chart, and your DIN should be 5 - 5.75

as for your brother, 4.75 - 5

You can use this chart for reference:

I think a 6 is pushing it. Im 5'9, 160, pretty aggressive, and Ive been at a 6/7. The chart doesnt lie....

i was lookin at my charts just chillin here (before any hard reccomendations were made) and I was gonna say 6, maybe 6.5 max for the first one, but for 120-125 lbs, more than 7 seems like overkill.

if a setting seems to be releasing easier than desired, then you can crank it up a bit, but better to start low.

Haha depends the binding too. I was mostly basing it off my bindings (Look Px-12 wide) and I ride 8-9 depending on the day of the week, and I only weigh 165 5'11".

But you're right, I was thinking a little high for such small fellas.

thats like saying dont mount true center because the ski company says to mount it on this line..........

for park your din should probably be higher than the chart becasue the chart isnt made for park use

i am 130lbs and keep my din at about 7 but might krank em up to 8 or 9 cuz they pop off when i lean fast to butter

If you have to ask, you shouldn't be setting it yourself. Go to any shop when they're not busy and they'll hook you up for free.

Whoa 6? I ride at 9, im 125lbs and 5'6, and yes the shop actually put me at 9. That's with px12s, charging pretty hard in the park, I come out when I need to

I always just play it by ear. APPARENTKY because I'm under 18 my shop cant put my din at anythign over 6. Legal shit or soemthing, I don't know. But ski for it a bit at 6, if it's pissing you off too much, 6 1/2-7, and move up as you need it.

6'1

165 pounds

310 sole length

strong skier

I'd assume I'd be higher on the DIN chart. Not that it matters, I have a good i dea of what I want out of my bindings.

^yeah ur shop is full of gapers

i'd say 6 for you 5 for your brother. but by what ur knowledge is....bring them to a shop and have em do it for cheap. If you start coming out with what the shop says, turn it up a .5 at a time. You chouldn't go any higher than 7 or 8. And if ur at 8 and u come out ur bindings are broken or they're not adjusted right for your boot. OR you are a fairly good skiier really pushing your skis and bindings.

I dont know why people always realate them popping out with the DIN of thier binding! It has hardly anything to do with that, more so, the forward pressure isnt correct, there needs to be some wing adjustment, or they just were mounted awefully.
