What DIN setting?

Hey NS
I have got a pair of 4FRNT Deadbolt 15s mounted on my chronic cryptonites, when i got them mounted the tech set the DIN setting to 8. But i ski very aggressively, a lot of rails and steep chutes where possible. I am 17, my weight is 70kg and my height is 185cm , what would you recommend i reset my DIN to? or should i just leave it at 8?
Thanks in advance
+ K for all

Honestly, if everything ont he binding is set correct your din won't need to be high. I'm 5-11 and 165lbs and my din is only at 8. They never come off when I don't want them to. Check the forward pressure and just make sure everything is set up right

if you dont know, then leave it at 8, its pretty obvious you dont know shit about bindings

Unless you are charging gnarly pillow lines and epic BC, there is not reason to go above 8-10 unless you are really big

If you notice you pop out a lot, then worry about increasing it. I have the Vist Deadbolts at a 7... They never release.

id say just ski how you normally do with them at 8, if they start coming off when you dont want them too, crank them up a notch, still happening? crank um up another, but dont just set them at a 12 to begin with, since you dont know your preferred setting, just work your way up until you find a din setting that works for you

Bindings are probably the last thing you ever want to tamper with. If you haven't had problems with pre release then they're set fine. Much better to have them come off a little easier then lock on tight and shatter a knee.

It'd be fairly obvious if they needed to be set higher, and unless you're skiing some gnarly big mountain lines or hitting the biggest jumps in big parks I would lean towards the lighter end of the spectrum.

When you say you ski chutes and rails, these both should have different din settings. You're din should be 4-6 ( whatever you prefer) for rails. While skiing chutes I don't know about you but especially if it's a tight chute, I don't want those fuckers flying off my feet. So I'd put it at 8, 9, 10 or even higher depending on how aggressively you ski.

I'm 6 ft 4 and 200 lbs and if I'm doing steeps or chutes I like having the security of knowing my bindings won't release unless they really have to so ill put mine at 10 or so. But in park it only takes one fall where your bindings don't release to permanently fuck your ankles or knees up. That's why I have mine between 5 and 6 in the park.

sorry for the dub post but, you realize they put like 8 year olds on a 4 din, if your 200 lbs, 8 din isnt going to twist the shit out of your ankles, my dins are at like 13-14 and I take gnarley falls, when my dins were on 8, I would pop out whenever I landed switch

Cheaaaa Boiiiiiiii,
well anywayz my bindings are set at DIN 8, i just ski all mountain and basically cant be fked to change the din at night . For Rails and Boxes i usually put my din fairly high about 9 or 10 as the toe pressure when sliding rails doubles so you need a high DIN to keep you in. I was just wondering what you guys would put if you were skiing all mountain (Park, Pow, Groomers) and you didnt have the chance to keep on changing your DIN setting. :)

This, I'm around 200lb 306mm BSL and on 6 din I used to just fly out of my bindings. Rear release all day if you slightly loaded the tip up and if you landed a spin sliiiiightly over/under rotated suddenly you're sliding down the landing on your face because the rotational loading was somehow enough to pop out.
I'm even considering moving up from 8 after I mysteriously popped out a few times at the weekend, except that my knee is giving me a bit of grief and I want to be err on the safe side for a while.

im 5' 10, 145 and i ride my griffons at 8 or 8.5 but i ride my px 12's at like 10.5. i think that you should try a few and see what you like. it also matters what you ride

this thread is a liability waiting to happen... please be super careful what you post here/recommend people set their DINs at...

This.

If you really wanted to know if your shit was set properly you would have also stated your BSL and the skier type you put down.

The Deadbolt 15s are made by Tyrolia. Tyrolia makes a good binding with a large DIN range. If you do not know what you are doing, do not monkey with them. If the forward pressure isn't set properly, they will not perform very well. If you boot soles are heavily worn, they will not perform properly either.

I'm not going to talk about my bindings or my DIN settings, because it doesn't matter what I ride.

I'm 5'11" 155 pounds and my tech set mine at 8. I'm gonna bump them down to 6 or 7 because I don't want knee surgery again. I'd rather have my skis come off then not. I am an aggressive skier and I blew my knee on a din of 7. My griffons which are set at 8 are on my lizzies, and they are so soft that I could never pop out of the bindings. They scare the shit out of me.

im 5'7 and 155, after jumping out of my skis and pulling them off mid air and having them pop off cuz i like to land hard on rails, i put them at 10, and they havent bothered me, but i ride cheap bindings, so maybe they're weak
