What did you think of IF3?

I agree w/ alot of what you said. but

TV: ass f-beep-k f-beep-k f-beep-k (beep = censor)

IF3: fuck dick anal....poser fuck face.... no censor.

I was just suprised at some new things i learned that night haha. It didnt offend me at all, but may have others. And am just looking at the other side of the spectrum and how others may see it.

 
Hah yeah... well I think that its senseless to have all that beeping on TV. :)

Who knows, I had one of the greatest times of my life, and I'm super pleased at how it all turned out!

 
I have conformation from the judges that even if that comment was made, it is untrue. Tony was just saying that, and when the decisions were made the judges were not wasted, and took it very seriously.

Yeah man SO sick! What was wild is how he read the crowd so well. Usually he plays way more weird arty type stuff, but his show certainly was banger.

Beforehand he asked me what type of a crowd was going to be there, and what sort of a vibe we wanted from him, and I just told him "Man, I've enjoyed every one of your shows so just do what you do!"

Its a true artist that can adjust like that within a few hours...

 
IF3 was fucking awesome. Felix did an amazing job. NS awards were so fun, great job Doug.

I couldnt be more stoked on the entire event.
 
All lies... I have talked with everyone involved and this was not said.

I believe in the judges, and think that they did a fantastic job. I'm stoked at how it turned out, and its cool to see different people winning things!

All the film makers deserve huge props, it was a wicked crop of vids this year!

such good times, mad props to all the if3 & ns guys. if you couldn't make it this year, you should definitely go next year.
 
Best ski-related weekend ever, other then when im skiing. Meet & talked to Dumont, (dont even get me started) and during Enjoy i had 5 drunk guys behind me who were hilarious.
 
IF3 was nothing short of epic. Doug, Felix, and the rest of the crew put on a hell of a show, and seriously if you weren't there you missed out super hardcore! Definately going to be back next year, for SURE.
 
Alright here we go...

So before I want to clear something up. We did have some beers and we not even close to being drunk. I don't think I would of judged the same way if I was drunk.

For each category we had a set of criteria we had to respect. For example to win best movie you needed to have a good mix of riding, terrain and locations (that's just a few criteria). Plus you needed a good balance of all the other categories (editing, cinematography).

One thing we need to understand is that myself, Anthony and Mike have enough credentials to judge this competition. But people will always disagree with our decisions. And what's beautiful about judging a competition like this is that we can go with our gut feeling and decide who deserves it the most.

I now some of you thought that Believe should of one, and maybe your right. I personally loved the movie it had a cool feeling, the camera work was really good and the riding was good. But it lacked certain things we were looking for. For example: as far as cinematography it was really well shot, you had some really nice tight framing and that one shot of O'Connell in the snow was incredible. But all together Berman's movie was a little bit more original (camera wise) and that whole segment in the park (heli shoot) was just fucking ridiculous. You see instead of shooting super tight they shot it wide and with the jumps that were really well cut it gave it a really interesting graphic element. And you know what it felt really good giving that award to someone that wasn't shooting 16mm. And this is coming from someone who use to shoot on 16.

The kids who are complaining about the judging just have their panties in a bunch because their favorite movie our rider didn't win. At least the event was not biased like the powder awards were we all know who is going to win. The ski industry has this little dark side where everything is dictated by how much X invested in Y and who's buddy with who. And try to go to the Powder awards, it's either super expensive or invite only (don't remember). Way to get your fans involved. These are the people who buy the skis, the movies and who fucking venerate these athletes. I think this event is what you need to get more people stoked on skiing, and to make sure that you can have an open forum where people can participate. If you don't like the judging send your suggestions to Felix or Doug. But at least it's not a part of a business decision.

Not matter what anybody says I stand by my decisions. The proof is that Pléhouse didn't win anything and I held my point about cinematography in Berman's movie. One thing I might be guilty of is saying to the other judges "you know what fuck this, let's give the cinematography to a digi movie and fuck the status quo". But that's the beauty of judging, seeing who really deserves it, who innovated, what film had all the best elements and all together wasn't boring. Like I told Doug, Believe was an amazing movie, but it lacked diversity. It's still got best editing, which is not nothing.
