What did I see?

Hey,
I have a pair of AR7s, awesome skis after a few days riding on them, but as I was getting off a bus yesterday somebody walked on with a pair of what looked like AR7s but had a completely different sidewall to mine.
My pair have the sandwich construction under foot and then cap towards the ends, the sandwich bit being coloured with 3 stripes, but the other guy's pair had a sandwich construction along the whole length of the ski, solid pink, but the same graphics on the skis.
I'm pretty sure mine are the standard AR7 so what was he riding?
 
they are ar6 prototypes when they were going over the original construction for the ar7, like if you see JP's segment in Revolver when he's hitting urban, he is riding a ski with the ar7 topsheet but it has abs sidewalls so basically ar6 protos are what you saw
 
I'm guessing that the topsheet wasn't a concern when they were building the prototypes, so instead of desgining a topsheet for the new ski, they just used a topsheet that they already had, The current AR7s
 
It's also done for filming purposes. The AR7 wasn't fully ready yet, so they put the AR7 topsheet on an AR6 so it looked like he was skiing the new ski. This happens pretty frequently.
