What counts as a pretz?

personally it has to have a spin on one direction and then spin off the other direction so you change your momentum on the feature. I know a lot of people say pretz just meaning stopping their rotation though

I'd argue the bare minimum for pretzel is the humble front 2 out

Boarder homies always say oh he pretz'd when you do one. If you do a back 2, they call it same way 2 out

90° rotations on never count as a pretz to me. The rotation on must be greater than 180° for the rotation out or swap to count as a pretz

You're literally getting off the opposite way you spun on, that's the definition of a pretzel. Obv straight slide to forward doesn't count because you don't spin but I think its really tryhard to say a f2 isn't a pretzel rotation

Nah man. Tbh I doubt you even say it yourself. Have you ever said “Yo im gonna pretz 2 out of this rail” probably not. You’d say im gonna front 2. You technically aren’t wrong but historically nobody calls it that, kinda sounds dumb too. Boarders have to say pretz or sameway because their body is facing parallel to the slope so theres no fs or bs on boardslides.

Pretz is 180 or more on skis.
