What Country has the Best Skiers?

Been thinking about this question for a while, I would have to go with either Norway(Siver Voll, Oystein Braaten, Birk Ruud, Andreas Hatveit) or Finland(Joona Kangas, Anntti Ollila, Elias Sryja, Lauri Kivari).

I'm not even a very patriotic guy, but America has to be up there just by sheer numbers. Legends like THall, Dumont, Seth Morrison, Wallisch, Mike Wilson, not to mention all the various crews (STEPT, Big Picture, Traveling Circus, most/all of the Good Company guys). Really the two big misses are no Candide and no Henrik

I dont know if I could pin it to a country, but if I could pick a region, I would go with the Alps for sure. Scandanavia has some dope skiers too

Them US East Coast and MidWest skiers are just bred different...

That’s why we’re better at rails than most people

Except for skiers like Olsson, Hatveit, JP, Wells, Schiller, Burke, Henshaw, Pettit, Abma, McConkey, Gangier, Douglas, etc etc etc. List goes on longer than those from the US..

Very true, I was going to say Canada was up there as well. (Although I'd only put Olsson, Hatveit and JP on that "god" tier with Henrik and Candide).

I think this question is confusing some around here. I mean are we talking where do people rip the hardest (in general) or where do the best/most pro skiers come from?

What are these countries? EU as in the European Union? NA = North America? Those are not countries.

I'm giving OP a general guideline, else i'd write one country.

My guy is spitting facts right here.

vermonters

A lot of people don’t understand that almost all common trends in skiing are birthed from Vermont skiers..

The bunch didn’t develop their infamous style until they spent a season with Liam, beenie, & the Gibson.

So Vermont is to blame.

No, I wouldn’t say that. What that style spiraled into is 100% on magnus/bmack/peyben.

But take a look at cole Gibson’s and Jeremie Veilleux’s edits from 2013-2016 and you’ll understand what I’m talking about. A lot of popular styles nowadays is because of the people that lap Mt. Ellen everyday. Some of the most original forms of skiing are birthed in those hills.

[tag=146110]@Chubz.[/tag] Dude as long as skiers are having a good time I don't give a fuck what they wear or if they use poles. Keep skiing fun!!!

Likewise! I was just throwing it out there cuz Vermont skiers are the best in my opinion. Vibe up there is outta this world

East coast of the US obviously, some parts of the midwest but wish there were a lot more midwest turned west coast all mountain rippers. Scandinavian countries, frenchies, and loaded as fuck canadians skiing big lines from their sleds.

[tag=146110]@Chubz.[/tag] Your opinion is a bit buyous. Skiers in Vermont seem to be heavily influenced by snowboarding and skateboarding, which is sick, but i don't know about the Bunch being that influenced by the HG guys. I'm sure they were already watching a bunch of stuff outside of skiing and that's where they got their style from

Kieran Mcveigh revolutionized the whole swerve skiing movement. He was one of the first people to incorporate those types of butters and approaches in his skiing.

Never mentioned anything about HG influencing the bunch dudes but you can clearly see a style shift in the swede’s skiing after spending a season with those Vermont boys.

All im trying to put out there is that a lot of trends in skiing are birthed in the green mountains. I would say sugarbush is one of the most underrated mountains in terms of influence in the ski world. Which is fine by me.

Yeah I guess what you're saying makes sense. When you think about it Kieran was quite ahead of its time
