What flavour coffee do you drink? and out of what machine?

I drink Nantucket blend out of my Keurig.

seach barred nothing came up

repost.....

anyways currently drinking french roast from a local coffee shop... also trader joes Italian roast is decent.

The 3 lb tin of Colombian coffee from Costco in my shitty coffee maker. Yay college

I'll probably spring for a French press sometime this year though

Free Starbucks coffee, the Antigua blend right now, I think. French press. Ooooorrrrr stovetop espresso, with a bodum milk frother for the cappulatte.

Green Mountain espresso blend with Splenda and Coffee Mate French Vanilla sugar-free creamer. It helps me get through school and work.

The french vanilla creamer helps for people who want to drink coffee like a normal person but don't like the taste of coffee. Trust me, when you add the creamer to the coffee it actually doesn't taste like coffee.

Great value or the price. Once I get my grind grind failed I'm going to mod the portafilter to make it unpressurized.

It's a POS, probably going to take it back and buy a real burr mill.

Then I have a French press but I want to get a glass pore over. I'm brewing Bridgehead, Muskoka, or Kicking Horse dark roast or espresso...

currently the Maui Mokka Peaberry from Rusty's Hawaiian. shit is fucking awesome. Floral nose, sweet, berry-like flavor, hint of citrus to finish. expensive, but worth a one time spend just to check it out. even the beans are unique, tiny and spherical.

Kirkland Signature Colombian blend in a cheap coffee maker because its cost effective, tastes pretty good, and I don't need to be drinking expensive coffee or using a French press at 4AM half an hour before work or at school before class. That money saved is money well spent on craft beer.

Current espresso setup:

Hario V60 setup.

Drip:

Technivorm Moccamaster with glass carafe, partly because: nostalgia and because Made in Holland.

And of course there is a bialetti somewhere:

For beans I mostly go to Blanche Dael and sometimes Kaldi, they roast their own stuff and ship it almost immediately after roasting so your beans will be fresh as fuck.

But truth be told the machine I use most often is this this one:

I'm lazy.

Yes BUT basically cheaper machines drive the coffee through a tiny hole to make up for improper grind/tamp, it's okay but you can never get a proper shot with good crema. An 'unpressurized' portafilter let's the water flow evenly producing a much better shot, but your grind/tamp have to be done properly to hit the 25-30sec timing or whatever....

In a pressurized portafilter there's usually a plastic or rubber device located below the filter basket that forces the coffee to pass through small openings, thus generating pressure. That way it creates foamed coffee (bubbles made of air) that has nothing to do with a crema, it just gives the illusion of it even with stale preground supermarket coffee.

Crema is an emulsion of water and aromatic oils that forms tiny bubbles around carbon dioxide released from the coffee beans during extraction when water is pressed through finely ground fresh coffee at around 9 bar and the right temperature (around 90°C/194°F). Since extraction has already taken place when pressure develops in a pressurized portafilter, no crema can arise. It may look like it, but it certainly doesn't taste like it. It's a fake. You can taste the difference.

A non-presurized portafilter is less forgiving do, because your grind and tamp have to be correct.

I like to think you're the most proper son of a bitch on this site.

Also that you are very particular about everything in your house. And it's all classy as fuck.

How old are you?

Thanks, I'm 22, and being very particular about things can be very annoying when you are a cash-strapped student. My dad was a graphic/industrial designer and architect so I grew up in world of design.

Really wish I was celebrity rich do, I would have such a well furnished, well designed home that frail artsy people wearing black turtlenecks would go weak in the knees upon just hearing it being mentioned. But that's fantasy.

He passed away a few years ago, so no website anymore.

And I prefer to stay semi-anonymous on the interwebs.

I know most ppl will scoff at the idea of dunkin having good coffee but trust me. Dont knock it till youve tried it

i fucking love dd coffee. i mean, yeah, it's obviously not the BEST on the planet, but for relatively cheap coffee, it's pretty damn good.

None. I don't need any of that pussy shit to wake up. Just open your fucking eyes, it's simple.

Plus that shit is a drug (caffeine).

I dont believe you. Post a picture of all this shit. Who has 10grand worth of coffee making appliances. You honestly have to be the biggest troll ever. What kind of person who has 10grand in coffee appliances sits on a skiing forum full of 13 year olds.

Im calling you out Lawrence.

Well a Rocket over here is just 2K and a Mazzer is 600 euro. The rest of those things that I listed aren't that expensive.

Too bad I can't show the Rocket because It's at my home together with the Technivorm since my apartment is quite small and can't house them properly.

But to not disappoint you I quickly made a NS logo on a post-it and shot three pictures of three things in my apartment that should roughly come near that magic 10grand of yours:

All of it. From everywhere. I'd drink old, burnt ass coffee if it was all that was around.

Sure I love good coffee but in a pinch I'm not picky and I will gladly suffer through a rusty cup of Fat Bastard poop coffee if I had to.

Tim Hortons coffee is terrible and if you need to add cream and sugar to make it decent, it's not worth drinking.

When I drink coffee (maybe a couple times a week. I enjoy it, but I don't require it to function), it's usually an americano.
