looking for what would be my daily. currently just driving who ever’s car happens to be home at the time. was looking at hot hatches particularly for the storage capacity, while still being somewhat sporty.

Just got a focus ST. Get it over the gti. The fact that there is seemingly an unlimited amount of oem and performance parts that you can buy for cheap...because it is a domestic is reason enough. Is it a little slower? Sure, but I've had fast cars and the focus is more than enough to keep me satisfied.

Cheaper to maintain, great trans, torquey as shit, better looks (imo), probably cheaper, good creature comfort feature etc.

The Lake effect cycle has nothing on the st. It's actually more surefooted than my 2012 outback. Rarely slides when braking probably due to how light it is

Maybe I was wrong actually. I'm a huge fan of VW's but I didn't realize the ST is turbocharged and has a 2.3L

Tough comparisson, but I love the looks of VW's especially pre 2010

Get a Toyota. corolla hatch is a great car, but any toyota will last longer than you if you take care of her right. I drive a 1999 lexus lx with 450k and it looks like it’s at 100k. East coast car with zero rust somehow. A 1995-2008 lexus or toyota is the most solid car you can buy.
