What car to buy???

I have 6 grand to spend on a car. I have no idea what to get, i live in Ohio and its not that great here. I'm into modifying whatever i get, and thats where whatever money i make is going to go. Im thinking a used jetta, 1995 mercedes c280, maybe an eclipse if its a year 2000+, and older Bmw, a subaru legacy, etc...any ideas?
 
my buddy has an older mercedes and it's a bitch to fix he said; but super sick. beamers will last forever but are expensive to fix. Eclipses... I'm just not a fan so I can't help with that.
 
bmws and benzs are expwensive for parts and fixing, not to mention modding. If youa re gonna go DSM get either the AWD+Turbo eclipse/talon. Subies are nice, but im not a huge fan of them unless its the 2 door imprezes.
 
I'd buy the newest model i could for the money, probably around a 1999 if im lucky..

Nice....Subarus are awesome dude, if I were you I'd try to get a Legacy 2.5 GT....sick turbo and All Wheel Drive...they're hella nice plus plenty of room for ski shit.
 
I don't know about that. My sister owns a stock 01 impreza and it gets 30 mpg if she's lucky. I have a 220 hp outback and it gets around 22 mpg. If you're going to get a subaru to modify you'll have to get an impreza or a legacy GT.
 
i would go with a suberu you get way more value for your dollar they last forever plus they are all wheel drive to help you get to the Mountain
 
yea im getting a car soon and i think im gonna get a subaru. they last forever and are easy to repair, and are good for snow and the mountains

But I have a Dodge Stealth(Mitsu 3000GT) and I love it so you could look into that. (BTW you won't find a 3rd Generation eclipse for 6k sorry dude)
 
i had a 3g eclipse dont get a 3g. get a 2g awd. and even if you still want a 3g you wont find one thats a stick and in good condition for under 10k.
 
get a golf TDI they have shit loads of torque, are easy to modify, can run up to 400K miles and average 50+ mpg on the highway. my bro just got a 2001 for 9grand so you'd easily be able to a late 90's in your price range. plus with 4doors and a folding back seat youd easily be able to fit all your shit and your buds for a weekend of skiing.
 
yeah my friends family has 3 similar to that but they are 91s and they still run and look great

bmws will run forever from the 90s
 
if you want something to mod get like a civic or integra or something you can get tons of aftermarket stuff and you can find them everywhere.
 
unless he is going to dump thousands of dollars into a civic or integra i wouldnt get one . ricers are the stupidest fucking thing in the world. but hey if you want to go buy a civic for 4 grand put a fartcan , some aftermarket stickers and some gay ass aftermarket taillights on it then go ahead. wherever you go though people will laught at you
 
your right, i was just throwing it out there. every civic you see out there now has something done to it. its harder to find one that is still stock
 
I'm going to look at a blue 2000 Eclipse. Unfortunatly its only a 4cylinder(blah) but at least its manual. Its got 100k miles, leather, all power, and its gunna cost 5.5k. Best deal ive found yet. What do you think? Heres the pic.

Whatever you do. DO NOT get a cavalier. That shit is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gay to modify. I can't believe ppl waste there money on some shit ass car like that.
 
Heres the wing id buy, and the Razzi body kit is a maybe. The wheels are pimp, but are gunna cost way to much for me. Im thinking about spending only a few grand on extras, im more for show than go. But i'd still buy a cold air, exhaust, and some other small engine mods.

a 2000 gs with 100k miles? for 5k? i dont know man, that seems like a good deal but they are sooooooooo fucking slow. even with all that shit you listed AND a fuckn turbo it wouldnt be much faster then a stock gt. but i guess go for it. 100k miles is huge though

i dont know much about cars but get something decent and then just put a lot of work and some money into it
 
I guess I never really told you what car on my last post.... so go with the Jetta. But, if your modifying, DO NOT, buy a coffee can shitty ass $80.00 muffler. Buy a REAL exhaust system. I think it's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better if you drop a grand on a real EXHAUST SYSTEM. Not any of that dumb coffee can muffler shit. 95% of ppl see those things and just say gay gay gay gay and GAY! But that's my advice.
