What Camera?

Hey NS,
I'm just wondering what camera to get? I have, editing wise, iMovie '08 and iMovie HD and considering FInal Cut. I want something thats clear and crisp and dosn't have a jello effect when filming a line ( well moving). I dont want anything over $1500
 
get a used gl2 some guy on here was selling his for around that price but i think it sold. but just look around on craiglist and stuff and u will find one
 
How much do you enjoy post production? Do you want a camera that you can do most of your effects in-camera, or are you looking for a camera that shoots for the edit room?
 
You may be able to find a sony VX2100 or a panasonic DVX100a for that price. I would recommend those. I've used GL2's a lot and I really dislike them, but other people seem to like them alot so I don't know what to say about that.
 
GL2s are good if you want the film look, for they have sort of a grainy image.

Sony VXs are good if you want the crisp, skate movie look.

To keep the image from shaking during a line, turn off steadycam.
