What Camera/Camcorder?????

Both of you, timeout for 5 minutes in opposite corners of the room, face the wall, and you may have some reflection time for your actions. Do not say a word, not one word.

You definitely do not want to do that young man.

you guys complain about eheath yet, any time i have asked a camera or editing question he has helped me greatly, and i have never heard a bad comment from him towards me. It's all about not saying retarded shit and asking retarded questions

^ i full heartedly agree. He has been helpful to me and if anything i can respect him. I enjoy his edits and know he does good work.

dont want to turn this into a suckfest (heath loves it though) but I agree

he knows his shit and is very helpful

n00bs(DownToFilm)just hate cuz he wrecks them

Haha thanks guys... For a second there this thread kinda turned into a
"Hey noobs, eheath hates you" thread... But um.. oh god what do i say next.. umm. I want the camera to have a lens?.. and the ability to zoom i guess??
No but seriously ive got it down to 2 cameras.
Canon 7d/60d body only with a Canon 50mm-F/1.4 ef
OR
Panasonic DVX100b. (yeah yeah its not hd but that shit takes up a lot of space. Its still a really good all around cam.
I know their kinda diff but i like them both

Ok, im actually gonna give you some advice, go with the hmc40, im gonna get hated, but it has very very good quality in an in expensive prosumer camera, it is basically the dvx's big sister, or u could dish out even more money and get the hmc150 which kicks all of there asses

Im sorry if im a noob to you and everyone here, iv only been filming for one year, sorry if im not like eheath and have been filming 5+ years. and know all my camera shit, eheath has just torn me apart since i made this one thread "should i stick with my fx-1000 or 7d", and he just tore me apart completly

i dunno if youve seen my first year or two of filming/editing, not very good. Still isn't as good as it could be, at all.

point being you really shouldn't be giving people advice on something you have minimal knowledge on.

amen.

And to BigMeat, as a DVX user I can tell you that it is still an awesome camera - the stuff you can put out with it can be amazing, from the colors to the quality to whatever, its dope. Check out some of my videos if you want some examples, and you can also check out Landis's 3 year B-roll edit (alot was filmed with the DVX).

That's my 2 cents. To be honest, depending on how much cash you have and what you still need to buy, maybe you should drop a little more and get a used HMC40. Its all up to you, only you can assess your skill level and status and decide what's right for you.

Good luck mang.

ahaha, funny.... not really. everyone said at camp i was either a mini drew or a mini duncan but not a mini eheath. Im not a complete douch bag

Thank you all!!! ( i know this thread took a couple of weird turns but...)
I have made a final decision!!
I'm going with the HMC40! Thanks for all the advice and i think with my budget, and the fact that i want my friends to film this is the best way.
The ONLY way this will change is if sony emails me back and tells me they have refurbed Fx-1's, in which case i will be getting that.
But The HMC40 looks to be my future cam.
