What BMX bike should I get? I currently have a really old crappy one that weighs a ton. I want to dirt jump, but also some street, and I am 5'2, 100lbs

im not much into biking but i think its funny that you can get a good bmx bike for like 300 or 400 but a good pair of skis generally costs more than that....idk im just broke and wishing skis were cheaper

Hahahahaha! you cannot get a good bike for 300-400. a mediocre one which will not last, yes, but not a good bike. bikings a super pricy sport.

get a kink, there solid. or one of the verde's on sale for 400 on danscomp. maybe fit. possible eastern since your small, but beware they break.

*WARNING* THREADJACK *WARNING*

what's a good bike for just street.

ps i am a bike noob.

pps sorry for the threadjack, my question just didnt seem threadworthy

ppps i guess i could have made a thread, but i figured if there was already a bikethread, what the hell

pppps since i have contributed a question much like your own to this thread, may i be a co-owner of it? with permisssion to bump and all that stuff?

ppppps im really sorry about all of these post scripts, looking back it has become a bit much. i guess ill just hit reply now. and here it gos.... you know, im kind of having fun. ok seriously, it's time. but before i hit it, if you find yourself wondering wat the hell just happend, think of pandas and carry on. actually dont think of pandas. they will probably go extinct. thinking of them may put a damper on your day. think of cute kittens. shit. thinking of kittens just makes me think of my cat that recently died. hopefully you have not had a similar experience. soooo.....think of a nice pb and j sandwich. if you are allergic to peanut butter then the pb and j can be replaced with ham and cheese. if you are vegetarian i am afraid you are out of luck. May i suggest braching out? im afraid i made an unnecessary assumption. you are probably not a vegetarian. if you are, i respect your beliefs. if you are not then you can carry on with your thoughts of a delicious sandwich. In closing, i would like it to be known that... whoah, i just noticed the kraft foods ad at the side of my screen. it appeared to be a sandwich but on closer inspection i realise it may be meatloaf with a side of mixed vegetables. it also looks as if simon dumont is diving into the food. little does he know that they use fake food for those photoshoots. it is probably plastic. i climbed to the top of a hill today and looked out upon a small section of corvallis oregon. not really sure why i typed that buy at the time it seemed important. at this point i really have no direction and feel as if i have been ramblinggg 867-5309 , 281-330-8004. the numbers of jenny and mike jones, respectively.

I used to ride Haro freestyle bikes and Redline BMX bikes back in the day.

I understand Dave Mirra created his own company called Mirra & Co.

I miss my custom Haro bike. Bought it for like $600 and by the time I was done fucking with it, it stacked up to $1400 gone.

Lock your shit up in parking lots.

i was gonna say we the people those from what ive seen theyre a higher price point than what you're looking at. otherwise i was gonna say specialized/fuse

Definitley look out for we the peoples. I have an addict from like 2 years ago and its really solid. The new ones are also even lighter and have better parts and the price on them is pretty good. If i were you i would stay away from eastern though cause my buddy has one and its light but everything creaks and hes had a whole bunch of problems with it. The best thing to do as everyone allways says is check out your local shop and if you dont have one check out Danscomp or Albes or any other mailorder shop.

first you can;t get a decent bmx for 300.
a decent bmx will come now at about 700.
if you get a fit trl or str1 then your waisting your money.
There not even good. They have shit all stuff on them the frame is shit all good,
And yeah your waisting your money.
Make a thread of http://www.pinkbike.com and you'll get real help there.

get the best eastern you have money for, they have really good in house parts etc... like a shovel head, or a torino, or if you have money and want a sick stock dj and street bike get a jane.

otherwise look into fit and fbm completes.

Ok, just to make this clear, i dont want a Shit-bike. i want a real BMX bike. Thanx for your suggestinos, any are great.

for 5'2 and 100lbs this has your name on it

Actually, Ill be buying this myself. And i live out in the sticks. My parents just dont like it if i get new parts, so if i buy an ok bike and try to upgrade it, then theyll be like, no, it works fine, so i dont wanna have to upgrade it much. Plus I plan to have it for a long ass time.

First theres people who knwo what there talking about.
And 700 for a completer isn't much.
and the averagde complete in canada with a full chromolly frame bars and forks come from 600 and up.
and no. you can buy a 16 inch for 300 in canada from fucking walmart.
And i know what im fucking talking about.

And like he said,He doesn;t want to have to upgrade everything so why don;t you get something that has aftermarket parts on it?
and no matter what anyone says eastern frames are the nicest i've ever ridden other then sunday.

S&M all the way.

ive had their frame for forever, and i LOVE it. it is light as a feather, yet so so durable. i have dirt trails at my house and it performs so well. i also do hit the park and street up, and it withstands my abuse on it. ive had it for 4 years, and it is still riding like the first day i got it. they make the best quality parts.

hey man, i've got a Haro Dave Mirra Flair that i got a few years back, only road it for maybe a year, no park riding or hardcore jumping....i'll sell for 175 obo. and i live in WA state so it could be an easy pick up or drop off. i can get pics if you want them. and i have 4 pegs for them, if you want them.
