how are they overkill..? i hav them on my skis and i love them, they are great overall bindings, really durable, look good, and fit my ski type..i would argue that if u ski hard and aggressive, and enjoy park and pow, then marker jesters are great bindings.

They are overkill. The original poster is 145lbs. I have Jesters and I'm 170lbs and I barely need them. The griffon's will be fine, they have a DIN of 12 and will be perfect. No one is arguing they aren't a great binding. But the OP doesn't need a 16 DIN.
