What beacon

Should I get barryvox or barryvox s? I know its your knowledge that dictated how effective it is, but will the s actually help\ will I use its features or not ?

I mean I just put a tile tracker in my jacket pocket and if I go down the homies find me with the tile app, kinda sucks when phones r dead tho

Unless you're a patroller or doing loads of rescues you probably don't need the Barryvox S, most reviews say it's more complicated than the average person needs and in an avi situation you want things to be as simple as possible.

Either way both great beacons, have you looked at Ortovox or BCA?

I have the normal Mammut Barryvox and don't think anyone would need anything else unless you're hardcore into he backcountry and NEED the extra features of the S. Did some beacon training last season and the Barryvox is easy to use, quick to setup, and accurate in finding buried treasure ;) Overall, if you're grabbing a beacon for casual touring or out of bounds runs at some mountains you're not going to need anything extra than the normal Barryvox.

The normal Bvox is plenty for most people.. I never use most of the functionality of the S and the Wlink function only picks up that data from other Wlink transceivers so it’s mostly made for backcountry guide companies who outfit all their clients with the same gear...

go go with the standard barryvox. It’s more than enough

Thanks. Gotta say that not the most advanced but leaning more and more towards the standard one.
