What are you doing after high school

Just curious to see what most skiers are doing after high school and how many are trying to get ski related jobs. I'm in my senior year and going into the army after that not so sure yet what to do when I get out.

ill be moving to northern Utah and go to school at utah state and work ski patrol in the winter and wildfire in the summer

I'll tell you what I did after high school. Went to college. did a 4 year degree in 6, went to grad school, did a 2 year degree in 3. Had like 4 or 5 girlfriends, went skiing, took up some crazy new hobbies, made a bunch of money, lost a bunch of money, learned many life lessons, lived in like 8 different houses, met tons of cool people.

Im going for my associate's degree in business and then moving to Colorado to get a BA in business, but im going to ski my ass off in the process.

I'm trying to decide if I should join the Marines before or after college. I scored a 96 on the ASVAB and the goddamn recruiter won't leave me alone. Joining after college is risking getting injured and disqualified. But I kind of want to go to college.

Go to the Marines, afterwords, let them pay for your college. Awesome life experiences + No college debt.

As for me, working a full time salaried career job 48-72 hours a week, plus working part time as a ski patroller to stay in the industry.

I'll tell you what I did after high school: got a full time job, went to community college on the side, finished community college, drank a lot, drank a lot more for a few years, transferred to a 4-year in Montana...attended some classes but mostly gambled and drank and skied, moved back to Washington got a full time job as loan officer, lived on my parents couch, hated it and quit and moved to a ski hill to be a ski instructor, finished the season moved off the hill and got a job at Microsoft, got a boyfriend, bought a condo, moved in together, got a few more associates degrees and a dual bachelors degree and got a job for the government, got married, bought a house, got a different job for the government...and that's all.

Ever thought about ROTC

Just hoping to graduate right now, then maybe I'll be able to get into a decent college and just kind of wing it from there

I'll probably bounce around for a while but hopefully I'll find out something I want to do for the rest of my life

If you don't know what you want to do go to college and figure it out.

If you don't know what you want to do in college go to the most fun college you can get into/afford embrace the social experience and college life and make the new friends/connections and try and figure out what you want to do ASAP so you can get yourself a relevant degree.

Think of college as trade school for your brain just its fun and you can chose/change your mind what you want to do once you get there. (Its tough to switch from wanting to be an electrician to a plumber 2 years into your apprenticeship.)

I try to support the military but I just can't when I read about some piece of shit scumbag recruiter stalking and pressuring a high school kid who is semi interested in serving his country but isn't totally sure.

Do it after college when you will be more sure its something for you (and so you don't have to be a creepy older dude in college trust me you want to be the same age as everyone not a few years older.) Tell that guy to suck a fucking dick.

Most likely taking a gap year so I dont waste time at college switching majors and shit plus I need a break from school it makes my life at home a living hell. I plan on working a fuck ton especially before ski season and then ski as much as possible. Once the gap year is over I have 2 options in mind.

1. Live at home and commute to school and do a 2 year program and work while doing so.

2. If I can afford it, move out to Utah/Colorado, work, go to school and live in a cheap apartment.

Along with the gap year I plan to do a few bigger comps and actually try making something of myself in skiing while I can.

graduated college 5 months ago. Go to college, bang chicks, drink beer, ski with homies, leave with a degree and earn the ability to get a job that can support more skiing.

Im getting an economics degree and starting a business to make money and support my ski habits. Dont be a bum pothead skier I did that for a year and that was good enough, the season sucked as well.

I'm considering Utah State. What made you choose?

right now i'm laying pipe, and I might have a lucrative job offer that could retire me at 40ish depending on how I play my cards...

I could also be making 100,000+ a year at the age of 19 which is pretty neat

Did you lay your "pipe" in the girl you has as your profile pic? And did some prince from a random country call you and ask if you wanted to make that 100,00 a year?

going into my second season instructing and living in the mountains in the winter time. Might have to go to college next year but I still have little idea of what to study...
