What are those mysterious Salomons sleepy.grill, benjaman and now Sämi Ortlieb are on?

So those mysterious Salomon skis have been floating around quite some time.

So Salomon threw some 1080 throwback graphics on a ski, which (i read that on NS somewhere) was something like the Rocker² 100 from a few seasons back.

Over the last few seasons a few different versions of those throwback 1080s popped up and I cant be the only one who would like to get my hands on a pair.

Sleepy.grills insta profile has a lot of recent posts in which he uses these mysterious Salomons

The latest being this rasta-graphic (could as well be spray-painted by him)

Also Sämi Ortlieb seems to be on those said Salomons as well (as seen on todays NS insta-story from Super-Unknown)

So does anyone have any info on those skis?

Brand new ski for W2024-2025. Still in proto phase from what I gather. Hopefully I get my hands on a set next season to review

same same, in a few posts it looked like they had QST Bases but the tails definitely look different

I've kinda written off salomon regarding their park skis for the last few years but the fact that Pontus is riding for them has definitely got me interested
 
based on the info from the 24 gear hype channel Salomon was prepared to launch a brand new park ski but Covid ruined the plan and they have been putting it off for a few years now. They supposedly have a team and everything ready go, that's why there are a handful of new age rippers crushing park on QST skis atm like sleepy.

The new ski will be apparently pretty vishnu-like with soft flex and long rocker lines.

I'm pretty excited, Salomon was the hottest shit when I was young so it's cool to see them come pack to freestyle after their years away. Hopefully they finally launch it for next season.
 
I'm praying they make it in 189. Symmetrical QST shape ski with park edges would tick all my boxes. The east coast ice hill dream.
 
Yo!!! Been geeking out trying to find this ski on foreign sites lol thought it might be a proto. Appreciate the info let us know how they turn out!!

They're dropping next month, had a typo in my post its called the Depart (that's whats written in the triangle on the tips too). Its got a poplar/karuba core at a 106mm width. Salomon is moving away from being associated with the whole Amer group, essentially letting the brand have a more creative direction.

A lot of cool stuff in the pipeline with Salomon making a comeback to the Freestyle scene. Very excited to give both these and the QST X a proper rip this season.

Do you possibly know the available length in these? some 190 cm would be dope!

I have heard lil talks from local ski shop folks that these are not pictured in the Catalogs in the US.

could it be that these don’t make it to the US market this year?

or is Salomon pulling some Hypebeast shit?

They're only going to be given to select dealers this season. There may be a restock next season but also only for those same select dealers.

Like in CO, only us and ski town all stars are going to have them. Not even a store like Evo will.

Do you know if they will be available in Europe this season?
 
They come in 170cm and 180cm, and they should be shipping late February with 170cms in early March. We will have them to sell as soon as they get here so drop my a DM if you're in the whistler area and want a pair this season. They will not be available online this year, only a handful of shops.

Have not got a set yet since there arent many samples to go around but they are definitely soft in the tip and tail but solid underfoot.
 
Salomon is blowing it in my opinion. They built up hype with the retro throwback 1080 protos and all the flexy, interesting and playful looking white protos. We wait an eternity for these skis to hit the market and when they finally do they have a BBR tip, look stiff (see the latest sleepy posts for example) and only come in 170 and 180.

God even Jetskis hopped on the long plank bandwaggon and jets are probably easier to get than those. /rant
