Been watching a lot of SLVSH and a good deal of Redbull videos but I was wondering what you guys would recommend? Especially looking for more classic stuff before 2010 and the legendary videos that I wont be able to easily find on YouTube.

oh and to be helpful… I remember the West Coast Sessions being illmatic like 15 years ago.. also chug life is a MUST. JOI/JOSS edits hit super hard. The year they had national duos was probably one of the most iconic events of free skiing. Simon/Tom and Lolo Favre blew my socks off. early TC is cool if you’re into that. 4bi9 in general. lastly Max Hills crew back in the day kept it so technine…. it was some acronym i can’t remember, any other NSers?

as far as movies go, Slamima, Refresh, The Way I See It, and Teddybear Crisis are all classics. Don’t mention a TGR film around here, it’s not a rule but I personally will hate on you.

Claim is still my favourite film to this day with my top two parts being Chris Rubens at 27:07 and PK Hunder at 34:20. The entire thing is definitely worth a watch and a rewatch though. That and new intel, Kieran McVeigh. Wish there was more stuff out by him.

Max Hill (plus Cole Drexler and Rob Heule, who's still doing pow stuff with Line) was CASG. It seems like their work is a bit scattered, but SBC Skier's Vimeo has some of the newer ones and Max's Newschoolers almost all of the rest.

Pretty much all of Stept's work is well worth a watch. Ahmet Dadali (before he went off the deep end) had an amazing archive of freeski edits and movies on the La Fam channel, but it seems lost to time, which is a shame. The Wayback Machine version of it is still worth perusing, though.

I highly recommend u checkout my playlist on my profile. Many underrated vids on there. Bunch of classics too

Maybe not best but I really enjoyed toy soldiers “Come find us” .

But I can’t find it anywhere atm, looks like the full length got claimed

The first 10 level 1 movies are free on YouTube watch them and listen to the another level podcasts for each film as well. Besides that; session 1242 is one if the most iconic films of the early 2000s with peps breakthrough seg and killer segs from tanner and jp. ROYALTY is one of the goats from that era and please listen to the another level podcast with Eric Iberg about that film. While we can by Andreas olofson is a phenomenal doc from the late 2000s that is very real and relatable. Obviously other classics like teddy bear crisis and war! Also highly suggest classic ski films such as walls of freedom or hot dog! Old Scott gaffney films are fucking amazing. Enjoy the rabbit hole of entertainment, inspiration, and go do a fat daffy or spread eagle the next time you go skiing.

love to see it. B&E Blackout project and the jiberish Vimeo channel is a good place to start.

Feel Ghood. Just all time vibes. No other edit just makes you want to go skiing and have fun.

All the junction 133 edits for sure, IDEA is a classic Nimbus film, Tabarnak Pack is good urban, and Trash Party too.

zoot space is a great place to start, but I would say real ski is great. also, I think that the out-of-park games are crazy good (blake wilson)

The list goes on

So for all the 3 year olds who arnt aware...

Vimeo one day randomly decided to change their copyright policy with 0 notice and backdate it to everyone's existing catalog. So the moment they rolled the update out, many people got all 3 strikes automatically, lost their channel and entire video catalog. To my knowledge some people still don't have all of any of their shit back. Vimeo eventually sort of relaxed the rules and I THINK got some shit back but it was really brutal. I know when it happened, the 1817 filmer dude lost a shitload of videos that he no longer had locally so they were effectively lost to time

yeah they completely deleted my account and everything on it, I couldn't get anything back, fortunately most of the videos were saved locally and/or were posted on NS/youtube.

either way fuck vimeo, youtube for life.

YouTube is also fucked and evil but I am quite addicted to it. The ability to watch extremely niche content on any subject you want, learn anything you want, etc is unreal.

Every large company can be called fucked and evil lol

Youtube has very good revenue programs and treats their creators better than any other platform, at least to my knowledge.

Plus, instead of deleting your account, they just add a line under your video with the song name, artist, label and where to buy it and they share any revenue you make with the artist/label. You can basically post a video with any song on YT these days and it wont get muted/deleted, which is a huge W for ski edits.
