What are the best skis for a beginner?

My brother is quitting snoqboarding to ski. He's 5'9' and 130 pounds. hea wants a cheaper ski that will still last him a while. Any suggestions?
 
o and he has been renting skis for about 4 trips now and hes gotten pretty used to riding switch so he also wants skis that will ride well switch
 
something 170-175 i would think. something kinda soft to, like a Salomon. there good beginner skis. i have a pair of 171 1080's with bindings for sale. p.m. me if you are interested!
 
I know alot of people who started out on some Line 1260s, myself included. I think they are a great ski to learn park on...Very flexy, easy to butter, super duper light as well...As for price, they are about as cheap as you will find...I think a few people have some pretty sweet deals on some 1260s on here.
 
Rossi scrath, like the old original ones. They are dope as hell, cheap and i think amazing to learn on. Thats what I learned on
