what are the best big mountain skis

what really are the best big mountain skis cause they only really do what the best park ski is in the magazine so what do u think

 
ID say pistols are better for super deep pow. But pockettrockets do well in crud and groomers and also the pow. Different skis are better for different people just demo a couple of the top ones.

I would like to try a pair of Spatulas out for a Big Mountain run.

I've got a sleeper for you to try if you ever get the chance. The blizzard titan 8.2. It's changing to the Titan XL next year I think. It's a lot more solid than the pocket roket on groomers, crud and big mountain.

I would suggest the Volkl Gotamas, K2 Seth Pistols, or the Line Motherships.

If you are looking for a true big mountain ski dont go with the Gotama becuase the Explosiv and the Sanouk are Volkls true big mountain skis. The Sanouk is a huge swallow tail for people like aaron mcgovern. I think Pocket Rockets are also softer than a typical Big Mountain ski. Maybe the biggest Head Monster would be a good one. In terms of K2 the Kahuna is their true big mountain ski rather than the pistol.

Head Mad trix are about a 30:70 Park to MTN ratio. They are great in pow and hold up on groomers. They perform good through moguls, and are ok in the park. They are pretty stiff so they hold up on rails. The only prob is getting a good pop, but if u want a basically big mtn ski then its all good.

anyone ever try the swallow tails from salomon, a lot of their big mt skiers were using them, they looked really sick and rock solid, also whoever said igneous was dead on

but völkl explosives arent in their 05-series.

Their is the sanouk, for extreme special big mountain riders. And the Gotama, the big mountain ski with backcountry-ability. The next from Völkl is the Karma, they are made for backcountry and a little park and all-mountain. The last of the serie is the expression, i think its only a park ski. Get the gotamas or the karmas.

The Karma is supposed to replace the V-Pro I believe, and its beefed up with a wider waist and all that skiing goodness.
