i heard surface has some edge design made especially for the east coast ice...its supposed to maintain good edge hold on ice, but still be able to grind any rail without getting snagged! its still in r&d but it should be ready in time for winter. check it out, something should be up on the site soon. www.surfaceskis.com

i have never caught an edge while skiign rails, and my edges are perfect and i have never de-tuned them for rails or anything...and i hit my first rail on them when they were literally racer chape, like when i held them with my hand, the literaslly cut my hands open several times...
