The general myth is that conservative/republicans don’t like black (and poor) people, they apparently don’t care about minority groups. This myth also implies that liberal/democrats are much more in touch with African Americans, they have there interests at heart.

Naturally, most AA’s usually vote democrat. Take the city of Detroit for example, it has a large black community and the majority of politicians in the city office are democrats...its been this way for decades.

It makes sense doesn’t it? Democrats are more in touch and promise to fight for you in the government.

...so why hasn’t the general standard of living among African Americans improved? Detroit is a shithole and most predominantly black neighborhoods in the country are still poor. Seriously, could you tell the difference between East St. Louis in 1970 and 2005? Not really. Its still rampant with poverty, gangs, drugs, and high crime.

Are they shooting themselves in the foot?

West accuses Bush of being racist, he gets little negative reactions from the media and the NFL hasn’t changed their mind about having this classless person preform at the Kickoff concert.

1) Frankly, yes I am surprised. I wonder what the NFL is trying to convey as a public image. Personally, I think it reflects rather poorly.
