yeah ithink there still working on everything especially insurance for the mountain. thats my guess. Its gonna be hard to pull off a full mountain park without the right insurance.

Anyways I'm pretty sure hes still looking for investors so he can get everythign started. That is the last I heard at least.

Evan the guy in charge has permission to purchase the mountain from the current owners and posses all the permits to do what he wishes at the whaleback. In June he was still looking for funding but still pretty sure he could stretch for a december grand re opening. I have contacted him asking about the status but have not recieved a message back.

Sorry been to busy to post. Whaleback is a go for this season. Funding took a long time, but we are planning to open this winter. We are planning on finalizing the purchase in August, so you won't see much activity until after that date. Aside from me maybe cruising around on the John Deere, got it runnin last weekend, aayutt.

We are proposing half of the mountain be park and half traditional. Know this, we will be doing everything in our power to put only the best terrain on the mountain. But this place has not been open for the past four years, and we have a very tight development budget. We are a small crew of committed people and this thing is going to be grassroots all the way. I agree that Whaleback is a sick hill and it is perfect for doing what we want to do.

Anybody out there that is into design and wants to help us put the right image on this place. Send me some of your work and let's talk.

i think you'd prolly have to drive all back roads from waterville to whaleback cause none of the main roads travel east west in that area

 
i drove by it today and the only thing i noticed was that the grass and small trees at the base had been mowed down. Also, it seems like the guy has a lot of support from a lot of different people.

 
yea it sounds ill....i emailed evan and he responded right away...anyone thats close should email him and offer to volunteer...im sure he would appreciate any volunteering

I go to school at a nearby boarding school (KUA) one of my teachers is having a meeting with the guy and they know that whaleback will be opening on December 15th. I will keep you updated
