Whaleback Update

Hellow everyone of the NS World. I had a meating today with Evan, and we discussed the park setup at whaleback. We talked for about 30 minutes about what trails are going to hold what. Theres going to be a beginner park, holding beginner rails and small tabels for learning, intermediate park holding medium sized tables, 25-30 sizes, an Advanced Park holding a big money booter, large tables, sick jibs that have never been made before, if there is enough snow and the terrain applies the large kicker could be about 60-75 feet or slightly less depending on snow conditions and financial and what not(not to bad at all, eh?)There will be a Rail Field holding many many different rails and staircases and such, and there will be a rail feature right out of the font of the lodge, accessed by a small rope tow, there will be a set of 4-6 rails right next to eachother, some with stair cases, ledges, boxes, rails, urban and what not. the features at the moment are very detailed and sick. 2 features witch evan and i discussed today were, a huge block that extends off the slope about 20 feet out, extending until its 15 feet tall off the normal slope, then a rail and a box on top of that block with the ends of the rail and the box partly off the end of the block, after the block there will be a eitehr a cat walk 15 feet down, or a partial slop just in case noone makes the gap, after this catwalk or partial slope there will be a steep landing for the 3 features so you have plenty of time to style out your spins and what not! there will also be a bomb drop on this block for 180's and butters. The second feature we discussed was a multi feature butter box. This consists of a Jump, after the jump a medium sized gap, then a butter box, witch is really high off the ground made out of snow, or possibly plexi glass for a really sick ride, there will also be a rail off the side of the jump that is facing up so you can gap over the butter box to the landing. After the butter box there will be a gap and a wide steep slope for landing. I know you all hate msp, but in one of the shots in abma's section there is a sick set up gap with a real nice transition to a big kicker, this is a big possibility, and will probably happen, This is only a start for the wonderful features that whaleback will hold. Rail wise, there are going to be some really tight lines, rails, and boxes to gaps to landings for spinning (like in shanghai six at keystone), Another kind of features that there will be are funbox sort of rails, like a mellow up flat down rail or box supported by snow, right next to a down ledge or something, where the down part of the up flat down would be but right next to it (this is only an example, i don't actually know the set up, but evan was trying to describe it to me, but it was tuff to comprehend, but i think this deffinately gives his ideas creditability. All the normal rails will have actual landings, not this flat crap that some resorts have, and the rails will have more accessible rails for spinning onto, not not all slide ons for snowboarders to 50-50 on, Well thats the update, atleast as much as i can remember, I'd like to hear comments and suggestions so that i can pass them on to Evan. Thanks Guys.

if people post there ideas still and what they would like to change that would be really great aswell, because i'm still in contact with evan, also they will be changing all there features year round!

um um um...im speechless...i cant wait

almost too good to be true

SOUNDS SICKKKKKKKKKKKK CANT WAIT

any updates on opening?

on the line site under ashley battersby's segment there is a pic of her disastering a flat down box which is part of a staircase feature, with a down rail on one side of it which would be cool to have, there is a gap onto the rail and the box both

i'm not sure, if it snows maybe soon, there starting to build rails, but if we get no snow, it'll take a little longer, but hey it was just sleeting outside so, hopefully before the normal time

no we don't have deep deep pockets, the limit is financial and the amount of snow, were going to do everything we pissibly can, and also we aren't going to be limmited by the insurance companies, like killington. If anyone in the NH Area knows how to weld, we could use a couple, you can weld sweet rails, have fun, and weld stuff, yayyy! I know i'd do it, but i can't weld. also alot of the features will be skatepark related, except blown up and made bigger, and out of snow, like skateboarding

how many trails are all the features going to span across. is it gonna be like designated or like amped where everything is just spread around cuz that would be so sick.

here is what i think you should have, or something like it

it should be pretty spread out, like i said beginner park on its owen trail, intermidiate on its own trail, a rail field on its own trail, and another rail field on its own trail, but it hsould be pretty tight for quick lines and such, cause i know you are all tired of having a rail and then 70 feet later another rail, horrible flow, it won't be like that, it will flow!

When is the planned opening date? All that stuff sounds sick but dont forget to put in the simple stuff like the picture above. Make sure to hire a legit cat driver too because some guys dont know what theyre doing with jumps.

Evan seems pretty dedicated and has already put way too much work into this operation to not go all out on the park. I dont think it will disappoint

this sounds pretty awesome, ill probably check it out sometime.

i definitely think there should be a wallride though, ive always wanted to try one out and some insurance thing makes it so we cant get one at sugarbush

at the gravity games they had a bunch of cool box features, and i think they would all be sick to have

i was thinkin of any of the white box features with blue coping or something around the rim of each box
